My Menopause Story

It actually started from about 40yrs.  Never heard or known of it, so ignorance almost took me away.  I sought for somebody to talk to me and may be explain to me what was happening.  I visited all hospitals in my location was admitted in almost all of them.  Visited all the laboratories around, they really fed fat on me.  I was always visiting general hospitals.  On one occasion, I met 4 other menopausal women at the OPD.  We got talking and they were afraid expressing they did not know what was happening to them. We all lamented that we would be attended to by one inexperienced young youth corpse member who hardly understands what we were going through.  Fortunately, we all had similar complaints.  Inability to sleep, sometimes anxiety attacks,  (perimenopause symptoms). How we wished somebody could  tell us the truth of what was happening.  Even for any amount. We would pay for it.  The doctors could not do much, Infact, some of them seem to need help themselves.  No wonder, the bible says, buy the truth and sell it not.

The Experience

The main experience in my case was.
Insomnia
Bloating and gas
Chronic constipation
Stomach ulcer due to too much medications, antibiotics and stress
Frequent  treatment for typhoid and Malaria at least 5 to 6 times in a year
Depression and several other symptoms that were explainable like panic attacks, shortness of breath etc.  These unknown too me were all part of the perimenopause.  The actual menopause actually hit me at age 51.  Few months before that I had period that frightened me.  Like never before, first of its kind.  It just refused to  stop with so much flow.  I never had it like that before.  I then went for scan for the first time after my last baby 13 yrs ago then.  The result said, I was very close to menopause.  After that experience.  My period ceased till today. About 5 yrs ago.

My diet till date

Before the menopause, I like bread and butter a lot, magarines, low fat, all sorts of delicacies, I was always trying latest brand of magarines, supermarket stuffs.  But during the menopause I read so many books, visited many sites. At one point, just about a year before this assignment, I decided that If I perish, I perish, I will never go to hospital, again.! They ate my money so much and the last visit almost claimed my life. .  The immediate change I made to my diet was take out the following from my meal for about six months:

Red palm oil

Maggi with all sweeteners and taste enhancers
Canned tomatoes and all canned foods except sardine without oil.  After I got information on the role of Coconut oil for good health
I searched everywhere for coconut oil and it was no where to be found, even if it not cold pressed. For a whole year, I could not get it to buy, then I commenced awareness on it, preaching in buses, hospitals, churches, Catholics, Pentecostal churches,.  I wrote a handbook on coconut initially distributing for free until, I found out that when people do not pay for it, they did not read it.  I then formally launched the book in 2014, and started selling for #200.  and those who desired and thirsted for knowledge bought it.

Here is a photo of the book on coconut

With the increased awareness on coconut, production of Coconut oil increased and so was the sales of Coconut fruits and its derivatives.

The Only oil in my kitchen from that time till date remains coconut oil, olive oil, red palm oil was returned to my diet after six months and has remained but I take with caution.  Another oil is organic peanut oil, was  avoiding sugary fruits,  organic peanut oil was also among, due to its profile which is the closest to olive oil.
In summary, beware of oils during Perimenopause and thereafter.
My everyday spices which I have continued to update are:

1.Cayenne peppers for good circulation and heart health
2.  Garlic
3.  Ginger
4.  Onions
5.  Black pepper
6.  Sea salt
7.  Thyme
8.  Tumeric introduced in
      2016
      Cinnamon
       Sea salt

My teas are:

Green tea but reduced now
Bitter cocoa
Guava tea
Mistletoe tea
Sorghum tea
Rosemary tea
Black tea occasional like ones in 3 months
Tumeric and ginger tea
Coffee - occasional
I take all with honey and milk, but reducing milk

My Protein
Black eyed cowpea now reduced because of red oil and
Millet
Soyabeans till date great for heart health
Sardines
Peanuts
Green vegetables
African bread fruit when in season
Occasional meat, chichen
Boiled eggs at least 5 times a week
All seasonal foods in moderation, walnuts etc. Coconut is the most frequently eaten
Including all green vegetables daily especially fresh bitter Leaf
Plenty of warm water as water therapy

Including all nuts, walnuts, peanuts, coconuts, tigernuts, cashewnuts, almonds etc

Above all, daily exercise, take outdoor  assignment, it helps, though, may not have  schientic proof what it does, but it makes you sleep well and feel good.
Also the need for essential oils for inhalation, massage, and similar therapies are very helpful especially at post menopause:

Common essential oils, I have found useful are:

Mint essential oil
Rosemary oil
Rose oil
Sandalwood oil
Argan oil
Néem oil
Aleo oil
Parsley oil
Olive oil
Mustard oil
Chamomile oil
Lavenda oil
Grapeseed oil
Jasmine oil
Tumeric oil
Lavender oil

Coconut oil and olive oil are my most  common carrier oils which combines with most oils.

The testimony

The testimony to date is that, I do not frequent hospitals, laboratories, and use and rely much on drugs\to the Glory of God.  The menopause is no longer a threat, every woman must go through it, except a few women.  If you are among the few.  Kindly share with us.

My Renewed Interest in Onions Benefits

Onions is a popular low calorie vegetable with numerous health benefits.  Though I had always known it as a great natural taste enhancer in soups and stews, but never considered it beneficial even when applied topically.  Recently, I was woken up at night with unusual weakness and tiredness which was unexplainable, worsened by a pounding in my heart which I could hear myself.  Wondering what was exactly the matter, of course the dinner was a low carb. with vegetables.  however, considering that much contact had been made with cold water, I began to wonder, could this be cold?

As the weakness, continued, I noticed a small onions by my bedroom which I was experimenting for mosquito repellent.  I quickly tore the inner juicy portion open and used it as cream to massage my both hands as I also noticed my right palms were swollen, a sign of inflammation.  As soon as I applied the onions juice, massaging deeply on both hands, the heat travelled immediately to my pounding heart and it stopped, in a few minutes, the swollen palms returned to normal and off I slept in minutes till morning.

If you ask me, Without a laboratory test, it seems to me, that onions can prevent a heart attack when massaged on the palm topically.
Onions can also quickly remove symptoms of cold and inflammations that occurs occasionally at night.

I believe we need more research on purple onions.  It is not a bad idea to keep fresh purple onions in your bedroom at night if you are over 45yrs.

10 Nutritional and Life Lessons from My Pet Gigi

Yes, Pets are friends to many, interestingly, more and more people are beginning to find interest  in Pets especially dogs, for various reasons especially Security.  There could be many reasons and benefits why you should reconsider your decision in not wanting a pet or puppy around you.  If there is anybody that hated them most, I was one.  Today however, that has changed.  I am a pet lover, infact, I consider them one of man's best friends.  My pet Gigi 3 months ago gave birth to a puppy we call him Bofi.  After her delivery, have continued to learn life lessons every day from these pets both from the puppy, her mother and the way they both live their lives especially Gigi

1.  Would Never Eat anything, she Meets Dead.

It is most interesting to observe that Gigi would never eat a dead animal, though she appears excited if she happens to do the killing herself, but she is never interested in dead things.  I learned and concluded this when we moved to a Suburb in the city and on an occasion I happen to kill a lizard and brought it to her with hope would eat as I learned that they a scavengers by nature.  She showed no interest even when hungry.  It then occurred to me also that the bible admonished us to stay away from dead animals and should not eat such.  Despite this warning, many are not deterred, they still eat such dead animals either due to poverty or other reasons known to them.  Even some foods we eat  are dead after much cooking and warming with no life them.   These beings, Gigi in particular will not feed on such.

2. Would Always Desire a Walk after any heavy Meal

Why would a healthy fellow go straight to bed immediately after dinner or some heavy meal, of course some of us are  guilty of this on the excuse that we are tired.  We never bother to go for a walk or exercise to aid digestion, yet these beings, these pets, these lower creatures are careful to observe this nutrition and wellness rule.  Gigi would always bark a kind of bark indicating, she wants to go for a walk after a main meal.  This is a lesson I think we should learn and in fact observe.

3.  Goes on low Carbs. always

As earlier observed in my previous posts on my pet.  She would alway prefer more protein, less carb.  Why, the reason is obvious.  Proteins are for body building, they are needed to repair tissues.  Surprisingly, humans
are not wiser in this regard.  Some are ready to consume carbs throughout the day in different forms, they do not mind the content of what they are consuming, yet these lower beings appear to be wiser, I think we should learn from them, I have gained a lot from Gigi in this regard.  Consider your daily intake of food and as much as possible let your protein be more especially if you are not burning the carbs as much.

4.  She will always consider her puppy first when it comes  to food .

As a young mother, Gigi is so passionate about her puppy, whenever it comes to food, she quickly allows her puppy to go first.  I began to wonder, how is she so passionate about her puppy and some humans are a bit careless about such precious gifts.  We have heard of some ignorant young girls abandoning their babies or even exchange them for money.   Yet, Gigi is so caring, never selfish and would always consider her puppy first.  Well are your puppies being treated like that?  May be this one is just different, but I definitely love this character of Gigi about life and I think we should learn from it, especially the women folk

5.  She is Quite hostile to strangers

I am actually beginning to reason that being friendly to strangers may not be fashionable any more.  I should be more confident with familiar faces. " It is better to walk with the Devil you Know than the Angel you Do not know", goes a popular maxim .  But what is there in being friendly  with someone unknown to you.  Methinks, there is something here for us as well.  Never be in a haste to befriend strangers.  Study them and their motives first before you give them your heart or else they will betray you.  That is a message and lesson learned from Gigi.  Let us learn from it.

6.  She Learns Mostly by Watching you.

I remember the bible enjoins us to do more of listening than talking, yet we do not take heed to this instruction.  We talk more and listen less.   But come to consider the life of this lower being, they watch more, pay more attention and most times learn by so doing.  She is so eager watching you and ones she watches you do a particular thing with her for at least 4 times, she takes it over and would never be reminded about it, rather she will be the one to remind you.  This is one of the best traits I love in Gigi, and how I wish that all human behave that way.  Despite scoldings several times, we make the same mistake and most times would deliberating not want to change.  We talk more instead of listening or watching like Gigi.

7.  Whatever her Nose detests, Her mouth rejects

Gigi will always sniff whatever comes her way, if her nose would not take it, then, her mouth would neither taste it.  With humans in most cases, the story is different.  when pressed by hunger, we would not bother how it smells but go ahead to eat, only to start running to the doctors few minutes later.  If only you listen well to your instinct, your nose and other organs meant to notify you of danger, perhaps many may be averted.  However, pets appears Wiser in this regard.  Let us learn from them.  They seem to me to be obedient to their creator more than humans.

8.  Gigi is Very Loyal to me and feels Confident also by my Presence

If you will be very sincere if you are a dog owner, you will confess that your pet appears excited with your presence at  times than your own children, your spouse, your parents, or your best of friends out there.  These are the ones that reveals your secrets.  No  wonder the bible says, a man's enemies are members of his household.  It is no longer news, when you consider various testimonies of faithfulness shown by pets to their owners even in death surpassing  that shown by humans.  Are you loyal to your Maker?  Are you confident in His Presence, Are you loyal to your spouse, parent, employer etc.  Let us learn from them.  Loyalty is a virtue.

9.  She prefers Natural Foods as against Processed Foods.

Do you prefer natural foods or highly processed foods?   She prefers fermented Garri to bread, she prefers rice to noddles, she prefers beef to other processed foods.  She seem to have added force to my belief that unprocessed foods are best for us.

10.  She and her puppy would always prefer to stay under my seat or a shade.

Why is Gigi and her puppy always preferring under seats and sheds, well the reason is unknown to me, however, I may think it has to do with protection and security consciousness,  I consider this as a lesson also. We should  be security conscious at all times.

The points stated are peculiar to my pet Gigi.  Gigi is a German Shepherd, yours may be different.  I have chosen to share this here because they are interesting lessons about life which may be overlooked by many including pet owners.  You may wish to share your own experience or lessons if any from your pet, it may benefit us as well.

Healed From Heat Burns: See What I used

My Latest Testimony, Healed Naturally.
I am excited to share this testimony  here and to advise our matured adults  to beware of minor wounds and injuries.  My Thanks goes to the Amighty God, the King of Kings for His Mercies. He gave us herbs for our healing, but we need to be educated and told about their benefits and uses too
About a week and a couple of days ago.  I had a heat burn under my navel.  Did not seem like a serious matter to me.  Initially applied coconut oil.  Days later, the skin had peeled off and the surface was a full blown open wound.
Coconut oil alone could not perfect the healing.
I kept awake and prayed for mercy and wisdom, My people.  No knowledge is a waste.  Keep learning all you can about healthy food and natural health.  I knew the open wound at such location and for my age was dangerous.    No longer a fan of antibiotics, then suddenly remembered there was a bottle of aleo oil on my table.  I mixed about 4 drops to about a teaspoon of Coconut oil and applied on the face of the wound.  Honestly, the result and relief was instant.
More of this oil was prepared and applied morning and evening, and withing 3 days, the wound had healed completely.
Amazing Facts About This Aleo Oil and Cold pressed coconut oil for Burns.
1.  Kills pains and destroy their links (. If you do not know, pains have links)
2.  Stops inflammations.
3.  Calms the body.
4.  Supplies nutrients topically making it easy for the surface wound to access nutrients directly.
5.  The healing is faster and stress free
6.  It is easy.  No dressing.  Just a drop or two of the oil.
7.  It has nice aroma
8.  It disinfects the wound and prevents infection with the synergy of Coconut oil
9.  If you can stop inflammations.  The situation will surely get better.  This is what happens with this combination.
10.  Great for diabetics too.  Who may have problems healing their wounds.
11.  It is non toxic.  The wound heals without oral antibiotics and introduction of toxins in the body.
13.  It is convenient.  Yes, we know aleo Vera heals but you cannot carry the fresh gel to all your locations and these raw gel are not usually effective after few hours unless Preserved.  This is more convenient and yet effective.

Immune Boosting Foods That Transformed my health (part 1)

When it comes to fighting disease, resisting infections and maintaining a strong immunity against disease.  Natural whole foods remains the answer.  I am just beginning to reason that our young children should be taught these important aspect of living even early in schools.  Meaning, it should be incorporated in early schools curriculum due to its importance.  This will probably help prevent some diseases and ensure a healthier population.

Back to our subject of natural foods that Transformed my health and can help you conquer that infection:

Here are five of the common foods that helped me conquer:   They are the secrets behind my less frequent visits to hospital today, they are my family Secret.

1.  Garlic:

Yes garlic is affordable and available but never neglect it because of that, it remains one of the most powerful antibiotics given to us by nature.  Fresh garlic is great for both internal and external use.  Use it as a taste enhancer  instead of bouillon cubes especially those working to lower blood pressure.  Use it if you have frequent infections such as typhoid, kidney, liver, malaria, Constipation, yeast infection or pains. Cold, cough, mucus. Best used raw with honey on empty stomach first thing in the morning after water therapy or last thing at night for best result over infections or tackling bacteria. It has anti inflammatory and antiviral properties too

2.  Ginger:

Ginger is close to garlic.  It is one of our stomachs best fried, include ginger if you have low stomach acids, nausea, always feeling pains, feels like vomiting, always  old, bacteria and fungal infections, cough, mucus, you just name it.  It is best with honey in the money either before or after meals. You can also use ginger in your cooking to spice it up.  This spice used in moderation provides support for key internal  organs like the liver and kidney.

3.  Onions:

Onions is another common foods in our local markets that should not be neglected.  Helps bring out the natural taste in all my cooking.  Fights infections, easily digestible, a source of iron and important nutrients that Supports your health.  Use more onions and garlic and your meals will naturally taste nice.  Fights bacteria, infections, cold, fungus and virus.  Those with asthma will benefit by consuming more onions through adding them to their cookings.  Do not overcook it if you want to get result.

4.  Cayenne pepper:

Another common food that helped transform my health is cayenne pepper.  Cayenne pepper is one healing food you should eat daily.  It is moderately hot unlike black and other peppers.  Use it especially fresh cayenne if you have stomach ulcers, poor circulation, fungal infection, insomnia, frequent infections, and heart problems.  It's your hearts' best friend. Best added to your meals towards the evening.  Dried ones are okay too, but if you are battling infection, better go for the  freshest version.

5.  Coconut oil:

Another common food, often neglected is coconut oil.  Many are afraid of coconut oil due to its saturated fat content, thank God we now know better, that the fats found in coconut oil are unlike other fats. Apart from not making you fat, they help boost your metabolism.  They help you fight of disease and infections, they help you burn fat especially stomach fat. They fight yeast and attack microbes.  They resist cold, they support your thyroid health and prevent sore throat, heal toothache, sore throat, earache, and improve good cholesterol.  Coconut oil is your friendly oil unlike other oils with transfats artificially manipulated for shelf life.  Which only benefit commercial purpose but hurts our health.

More least of common foods that helped transform my health. Remember that moderation should be your guide.  Food is our medicine but too much of everything is bad also.

Celebrate this German Shepherd Dog with me

Here is Bofi. You will help me wish him  happy birthday. Permit me a little brief on this German Shepherd that has kept and is still keeping Destiny with us.
Born on 1st November 2015, He is an only son. His mother Gigi died on 18 March 2016.  (A Day I will never forget). Bofi is destined to live, conquer and accomplish a purpose which he did and is still doing.
Conception
After all the efforts get the mother to mate which indeed happened, we were sure she was pregnant. Circumstances  compelled us to invite the Vet  doctor for a pregnancy test which came out negative. So we withdrew all the pampering.
His Birth
On that faithful Sunday, we came back from church and grandma announced to us that, it appears this dog gave birth while we were away. Behold!  Lying in the cage was a black oblong thing breathing on the floor and Gigi was ready to destroy anybody that dares to touch it. We were full of excitement and waiting for other puppies to no avail. That was how Bofi
came into the family.
His father was a stubborn mixed old breed called Bofi.  Being an only son, we named him after his father, who is also late now.
His Challenges
Boffii as we fondly call him fell down from a two story building at 4 weeks old, with blood gushing out from his head, nose and eyes. We invited the Vet. Doctor, He never believed, this dog would live with such injuries, but guess what! He survived it.
About two months later, we moved to our estate at Ikorodu. On getting there, he was so sick, stooling blood and all kinds of infections with no qualified Vet Doctor known to us as we were new there. We tried amoxil and some blood tonics, we could buy.  With little hope for him. We felt he was going to die. But guess What!  He survived it.
Wrong medication was administered to him by a quack Vet doctor on one occasion at our new location when he  was very ill as a puppy about five months old.  Guess what? Bofi refused to die.
His mother caught an infection during her 2nd pregnancy and we lost her on March 18, 2016 (A Day I will never forget). Two weeks later, this orphan (Bofi) caught the same infection, we gave up hope, more so he was a puppy, but guess what?!  He cheated death again.  He was on a mission.  He has date with destiny.
Bofi For Sale
At one point, I decided to sell it off due to too many ailments and infections, besides, and caring for him  was not easy considering the recession too.  Prospective buyers called and called, negotiated, somehow, he could not be sold. He was on a mission.
Bofi At Last
Bofi grew in size and wisdom.  Began to bark  and became very aggressive like the mother and stubborn like the father, but loyal, playful and loving like most German shepherds.  He became a member of the family and understands my dialect.
The Testimony
Until that faithful night at about 3.00am.  But for his alertness and the Mercy of God, myself and  the entire family would have perished in the hands of evil men, in the hands of doomed men.  Men who call evil Good,  Men who call white black, who want to reap where they did not sow, men who shed innocent blood!  May God reward them.  Amen.
Bofi is 3 yrs old on 1st Nov. but celebration begins today still waxing strong.  He is instrumental in saving the lives of the entire family on Friday September 23rd, 2017 at Open Route Estate, Off Ijede Road, Gbaga, Ikorodu, Lagos. The details of that failed assassination attempt is for  another day and for posterity.
Happy birthday Bofi,  you will continue to fulfil your destiny.  Dog lovers should pls help me celebrated Bofi.

COULD IT BE BLOOD PRESSURE?

Could it be Blood Pressure?

Was discussing with a neighour recently who complained of buzzing sound in his ears.   About 58 years old with no history  of blood pressure or whatever.   Of late he kept calling me that his enemies are at it again.  Which enemies I queried, he said his enemies of course  who are working against his progress.

We prayed and he left,  few days later,  he rushed to my place,  this time he came physically himself complaining that he is under serious attack and that the matter is getting serious.   I then asked  "when  last did you check your BP," because I hear that this blood pressure thing manifests in various ways.   He answered  that "it was a long time and that he does not have the problem of blood pressure",  I then requested him to sit down while I check his blood pressure,  surprisingly the result was shocking 169/90.

I recommended some natural foods to help bring it down which he did comply  witg  within 2 days he called to say the buzzing sound has stopped.  We both rejoiced,  so it was not actually his enemies but his diet.

He was okay and doing well.  Later he began eating whatever pleases  him and the buzzing started again,  usually worse in the morning.  He was redirected to his natural diets and it came down again to 135.  It was at this point we both concluded that the buzzing sound in the ears signalled high blood pressure in his own particular case.

The man has stabilized  and the buzzing sound gone for good.   That was how he defeated those enemies of his.   May God help us with this blood pressure  matter.

TRUE STORY: 70YRS OLD DIABETIC FOOT ULCER ESCAPES AMPUTATION, HEALS COMPLETELY IN 3 MONTHS

INTRODUCTION

This is a true story of a 70 years old Nigerian woman with type 2 diabetes who had been on diaonil and glucophage for about 16 yrs. It is a story of her eventual and total healing of her diabetic foot ulcer when all hope was lost. It is intended to remind us again that no disease is incurable, given adequate care and proper nutrition.

HOW DID IT BEGIN?
It actually started in September, 2014, when she felt a hard painful lump under her left foot which troubled her for weeks. She then ignorantly requested zealous neighbours to help her cut the spot open. Peradventure, some bad blood could gush out and possibly bring some relief, unknown to her, that was the beginning of her journey to the world of pains and narrow escape from total foot amputation.

WHERE DID THIS HAPPEN?
The woman in question is a Nigerian from the Eastern part of the country. She was residing in a remote part of the village where access to qualified medical personnel was a luxury and rear privilege. It was this challenge in accessing good and quick medical attention coupled with illiteracy that led her to seek for help from the ignorant and ill experienced villagers who eventually compounded her problem.

I Had An Accidental Fall Resulting in Pains, Find Out 8 Things That Helped It Heal

Inflammation is a condition where your body attempts to protect itself and heal the pain caused from an injury or infection. Some of the common symptoms of inflammation that may occur are swelling, irritated skin, severe pain and loss of function or full movement of that particular body part.
Chronic inflammation, however, harms rather than heals, because the immune system attack never stops. It’s like being shot by “friendly fire” during a perpetual war raging inside the body, says Dr. Schauer.
Most of us at least up to the age of 30yrs and above must have suffered  pain(s) at one time or the other.  Pain is common especially among young ladies who would  usually, go for paracetamol or other pharmaceutical drugs that will always mask the problem.  Even menstrual pains, but now  we  know better not as if we have conquered pains completely.

Unexpected injuries could occur, in this case there is little or nothing you can do, if it occurred as an accident just as I experienced a severe fall recently while on my high heel shoes, The pain was so severe and almost forced me to go for conventional pain relievers, which I had bade goodbye for some years now, but  thanks be to God that the pain is over now. Of course there were a few lessons also  learned from this experience, which has further strengthened my belief, teachings  and resolve that food can actually be your medicine and that your body's ability to heal is greater than you can even imagine.

According to Yahoo Health many scientists now believe that most chronic diseases that we fear most including heart disease, cancer and Alzheimer’s are all caused by chronic inflammation.

If You Suffer Pain(s) Here’s What To Do About It!

Poor dietary choices over stimulate the immune system and cause chronic inflammatory responses that deteriorate the body’s overall health, limiting mobility and contributing to painful joints.
There are however, steps you can take today to reduce the likelihood that you’ll suffer from chronic joint inflammation and pain for long period of time. Getting started is as easy as incorporating anti-inflammatory foods into your diet. Fortunately, the list of foods that fight the effects of chronic inflammation is long.

Surprisingly, there are foods that are rich in immune boosting vitamins, antioxidants, flavonoids, phytonutrients, minerals, proteins, healthy fats or complex carbs to help reduce your chronic pains and inflammations.

Here are a few tips that helped me heal the severe pains from the unexpected fall.

Firstly I went very low on carbohydrates especially simple carbs
The first few days, the pain was so severe, I used hot water every night on it, dry clean and massaged very well and deeply with natural shear butter mixed with coconut oil.

2) Avoided temporarily foods containing caffeine in any form weather natural or otherwise:
This I did so as not to aggravate the pains through the effect, gradually I ensured to use the leg as frequently as possible and allowed it to rest so as to avoid stress, because stress makes every condition worse including pains and inflammations.

3) Ginger Became my Favorite Tea
As you are already aware through my previous posts, ginger is a natural pain killer. So I drank more of ginger tea with a little honey and milk to help also improve circulation and allow blood flow to get to the point of the injury.

8 Powerful Nutrition and Wellness Lessons I have Learned from My Pet (Gigi)

Having a pet, particularly dog  is one thing I had always regarded as a
Western Culture.  If you dislike dogs and other pets, No condemnation at all because we were in it together.  However, staying with Gigi my German Shepherd pet had opened my eyes and taught me so many lessons about nutrition  and wellness.  Here are 8 important Lessons Learned from  the17 months old Gigi.

1. Eat Only Real Food:  Why is She always interested in only real food.  She hates saturated fats and hydrogenated vegetable oil, for her its NO to fried foods infact, she is allergic to fried things, they irritate her skin, and honestly, the same thing happens to humans, fried foods are enemies of good skin, yet we love them so much, we love to consume fried stew, potatoes, plantain, fish, groundnuts, meat, eggs, we fry virtually everything.  I have also disciplined myself learning from Gigi.  Say NO to fried varieties and watch your skin appearance improve.  It is one powerful lesson you can learn from a German Shepherd Pet.

2. Exercise Regularly:  After food, its time for exercise.  For Gigi, daily exercise is a must, you must take her out for a walk, why? Exercise should be part every day event if you want to stay healthy.  If you have spent time with  Gigi, she will not completely love and respect you unless you take her out for a daily exercise.  Important lesson too,  but why do humans enjoy disobeying this important rule of good health.  These beings know the place of exercise in their well being and insist on being taken out for a walk regularly.  Let us learn from it.

3. Get Excited when you see loved ones:  Why do you have to conceal your feelings, express it, it contributes to wellness too.  When your are happy show it,  let your loved ones see how excited you are, upon seeing them.  It is common in pride to show lack of excitement, even when you are.  Dogs especially German Shepherds are particularly good at expressing their feelings.  If its a stranger, or intruder they bark, if its their owner, they jump around and wag their tail.

4. Takes less carbs more protein:  Gigi detests much carbohydrates, prefers proteins especially from animal sources, that is those with complete amino acids.  Though their preference for  animal protein is in slight variance with what an adult human nutrition desire and requirement should be.  However, the important lesson here is that proteins are building materials, they are building blocks, and should dominate carbohydrates.  The reason we have suppressed immune system and so many nutritional deficiencies is because most times, we consume more carbohydrates, sugars and processed foods.  This lesson teaches me also that protein should be higher than carbs in our everyday meal.  It is an important lesson.

5.  Plenty of Water:  Gigi drinks lots of water especially in the morning possibly due to her high protein food consumption.  Water indeed is required in higher amount in all activities in the human body, such as metabolism, transportation and absorption.  Yet many could consume foods over and over again without water until they are tasty.  Do not wait to get tasty before you take water.  Let us learn from these beings.  They know what is good for them.  Take more water, not sweetened fruit juices, sodas, minerals and other flavored beverages.  Pure water is better and benefits your health, Let us learn from this Pet.

6.  She loves To Be Calm and Remain Unnoticed:  If you have no need for Gigi;s attention, she could stay for hours without a noise.  She loves to nap during the day.  Resting most of the time, Its a healthy way lesson I have also learned from Gigi.

7.  Less Salt:  Have you noticed that most dogs do not like much salt,  indeed much of it is injurious to our health, yet many of us are not mindful of the salt content of what we are consuming.  Salt especially refined table salt is among foods that stresses some internal organs and should be consumed in small amount.  Gigi hates salty food and cannot even afford to consume it.  Its dangerous to her health, let us learn from it.

8. She Smells it First :  There is a reason why our nose was put where it is on our face by God.  How well do you make use of your nose, If she smells it and it is nice, then she taste it.  In the case of humans, at times even when the smell is saying no, you still take the risk of tasting or consuming it because you are hungry, but Gigi does not take such risk.  Whatever her nose does not accept, her mouth would not taste either,  No matter how hungry she is.  Very powerful lesson too,  You could attempt perceiving the smell or aroma first before you consume.  It is a good guide to learn from gigi.

I have Personally Used This Bitter Herb To Lower My Blood Sugar

High blood sugar is gradually becoming a hot point when it comes to health matters especially of the adult, why? Probably due to  Western dominated lifestyle, more sedentary positions,  more processed foods, more carbohydrates and sugars in our daily diet.

Going by our traditional culture, rice for instance was a Sunday or Christmas delicacy, even at that , it was unpolished rice,  farm raised meats was an occasional delight.  Today however, the story has changed,  polished rice, noddles,  drug treated meats and chickens  are now the order of the day.  The result of course is not without its negative effect(s) on our health.  High blood Sugar, Hypertension, Blood Pressure and the rest.   We are stocked,  children, teenagers and the adults now suffer  diseases and ailments originally meant for people in their 80s.  Specifically,  the more common health concern today is Blood Sugar with its immediate attendant effect  of  either type 1 or 11 diabetes.  Today, for the average adult, the fear of diabetes is now the beginning of wisdom.

Unbelievable! Could this have been Caused By Gluten Sensitivity or Wheat Allergy?

Yes, wheat is one food, many resort to especially as they age, not because its so delicious or appetizing but probably because it is seen or thought to be the next substitute to white flour. Interestingly, we are already aware of its numerous health benefits. Surprisingly, however, research, encounters and experiences are confirming more and more that we must thread cautiously when it comes to wheat consumption.

BUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH WHEAT?

Wheat contains gluten, a kind of protein that is not easily digestible, a kind of protein that stays longer in the digestive track before its elimination, a protein not usable by our bodies. It is this singular attribute in wheat that calls for caution in our consumption of wheat.

Quite an inspiring story of another woman who took charge of her health and cured her III colon cancer with only carrot.  Sounds inspiring,  It happened to Ann Cameron, author of series of children’s books and also authored “Curing Cancer with Carrots”

13 Healthy Living Secrets That Has Helped Me Stay Healthier

Permit me through this medium to share with you some secrets that has helped and is still helping me when it comes to staying healthy.  It is also important to know that God has given us a body and it is our duty to maintain and keep it healthy.  To achieve your purpose and live fruitful life, is your duty that cannot be delegated to another.  To maintain a healthy body, the soul, spirit and body must maintain a balance.   This is number one secret and the earlier we understand this, the healthier and better we shall be.

Here Are 13 Secrets That Has Helped Me Stay Healthier:

1. Healthy Foods, Not Expensive: Before coming into the world of almost drug free life. It was not without years of grouping in the dark concerning my health and how to take charge of it. This is not to say that pharmaceutical drugs are unnecessary or altogether bad. Of course they are perfect in remedying any bad situation requiring urgency. The entire piece are all my opinion based on personal experience.
It is possible to actually leave a drug-free life. It is attainable, but with a bit of understanding on how your body works. I am an advocate of Natural Foods, Not to say that there cannot be provision for occasional snagging . You will agree  that foods like fresh vegetables, peppers, spices, grains, chickens, groundnuts, coconuts, walnuts. Eggs etc are not too expensive, unfortunately, many of us prefer fast foods, and the like. The area requiring discipline is the quantity we consume myself inclusive, We usually want to satisfy our appetite complete thereby consuming in excess of our required daily allowance in most cases. Let us endeavor to curb our appetite for unhealthy and processed foods and stay on the natural/fresh food side. It is one secret that worked for me, is still working and will work for anybody too.

2. Maintain An Ideal Weight: If there is one secret enemy of a healthy body I discovered is excess weight. If you are overweight and having health issues, I will strongly suggest and advise you work on the weight first and after that, then you start addressing the health issue if it is still there. Extra weight brings with it so many health complications, blood pressure, weakness, diabetes, and many other inflammatory diseases like arthritis and pains. If you are having an ideal weight, this is not a certificate of fitness though, it is still necessary to maintain it. Unfortunately, I have tasted both sides, i.e underweight and overweight, sounds funny but its true. In my opinion, It is  more dangerous to be underweight than the former. Being underweight also predisposes you to many ailments and the cells in most cases are even exposed to bacteria and virus than in the body of a weighty fellow. So both extreme are actually dangerous.

3. Avoid Stress: Stress of all kinds whether physical, mental or emotional are also around and within us, Myself in particular finds it difficult to deal with this.  Whatever that helps us keep stress at alms length should be embraced and welcomed. Identify the stressors that are inside and outside the home. Stress is a doorway for diseases and at the other end they worsen every condition. Ironically, some things that were meant to be blessings to us becomes a source of stress due to lack of prioritization. If you want to enjoy wellness and wholeness of life, then stress must be out of it. At the other extreme, extreme relaxation is a stress on its own and even appears to me the more dangerous .

This is a true story, She Survived Colon Cancer Naturally”

Ann%20Wigmore%201

The story of Ann Wigmore touched me, and I believe will touch you too. What is my attraction to this story, she survived colon cancer through natural food especially wheatgrass. I have also survived chronic stomach ulcer, and frequent, typhoid attacks etc through nutrition, It is my pleasure therefore to bring this story to this site believing you may benefit from it. Read on.
The Story of Ann Wigmore
I see a world without sickness…a world in complete harmony and in perfect physical, mental, and spiritual balance by following nature’s laws of cause and effect.
– Ann Wigmore
Despite our historic love affair with grains and the worldwide abundance of grasses, no culture has ever cultivated the drinking of grass juice until the latter half of the 20th century. The popular consumption of fresh squeezed wheatgrass juice is due largely to the efforts and genius of one woman, Ann Wigmore.
Sickness and adversity lead to innovation
Born in Lithuania in 1909, Ann Wigmore had a rough beginning. She started out by being born prematurely. Then she was abandoned because she was a sickly baby and a burden to her parents seeking a new life in the United States. Her grandmother, a self-taught naturalist, rescued and restored Ann to normal health. She learned a lot about healing by watching her grandmother heal wounded WWI soldiers with herbs and weeds. But at age 16, she still had no schooling and couldn’t even write her name! At the urging of her grandmother, she left for the United States to get a proper education and reunite with her estranged parents. She wanted to do well and adopted the American lifestyle, including a typical American diet. Eventually, this resulted in colon cancer. Then a terrible automobile accident shattered both her legs. Gangrene set in and the doctors recommended amputation. She refused, and against her own father’s wishes was sent home.
My homecoming was not a happy one. Neither my father nor my mother would come near me, and only with the help of my uncle would l find something for breakfast.
Ann knew there was a better way. She returned to her previous “peasant” diet of vegetables, grains, seeds and greens and restored her health by doing what she saw her grandmother do. She picked wild weeds and greens and applied them to her feet. This was not the desperation of a diseased mind but the result of her grandmother’s teachings about the healing powers of grasses and weeds. Ann developed a ravenous appetite for anything green. She nibbled on grass and sucked out its juice. She sat for hours in the warm summer sun watching the greenish-blue ring or the “creeping death” as her uncle sorrowfully called it rise up her legs. Winter was approaching and there would be no more fresh grass. What to do?
I asked God for direction. He supplied an exciting solution: the use of grains to grow greens right in the kitchen.!
One day, to her surprise, the little white dog who gave her so much needed love and affection started to lick her legs. This was the one part of her body he never touched! “My first thought was for the animal’s safety,” said Ann, “I impulsively raised my ann to move it away, when the injunction of my grandmother came to mind so distinctly I could almost hear her voice: `Instinct-guided creatures, left to themselves, do not make mistakes.”
That puppy was the first indicator of Ann’s recovery. Rest, sun, wild herbs, weeds and kitchen-grown grasses rejuvenated Ann’s health. She knew she was not going to die. The doctors informed her father that she was apparently out of danger. According to Ann, “This infuriated him, because he couldn’t accept that he was wrong in his decision to have my feet removed.” It was several months before her feet were completely healed and she returned to the hospital for an examination. The doctors “made no comment when X-ray films showed that the bones had knitted firmly, said Ann. Years later, Ann Wigmore ran in the Boston Marathon.
