Interactive Session With YOUCAT, Ogba, Ikeja Lagos


The president of Grace Ngo Foundation was with Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria, (YOUCAT) Ogba, branch on   19th  August, 2015, creating  awareness among the youths on the need to  prevent , reverse, and manage ailments through nutrition, and healthy lifestyle.  She spoke precisely on “Switching to Wellness through natural foods with focus on Coconut.  Here is a summary of  our message to the Youths.
Switching to Wellness is possible if you know  what you are  eating.  The body is able to heal itself of any ailment as long as the right building material is provided  by  you through nutrition.  A discussion on wellness will be incomplete and inconclusive without a quick look on the exact opposite which is disease, malady, or sickness.   We now know that there is only one disease, and that one disease is “Cell Malfunction” and there are just two causes ” Deficiency and  Toxicity” Unless Cells malfunction, there can be no disease. The thousands of different diseases we experience are merely the effects of thousands of combinations of deficiencies and toxicities.  Preventing and reversing disease is about preventing and reversing cellular malfunction. This we can achieve through knowledge.  Every man’s ignorance is his devil.  A popular quote says “The disease of ignorance can only be cured in the school of knowledge. You must apply the  knowledge you acquire about each natural food and its health benefits, this is your first step in switching to wellness through natural foods.

The Coconut is a fruit that has been around us  for ages; It is a fruit that exists mostly in its raw state.
All  the derivatives of the coconut are important when it comes to nutrition, the popular ones are:
  1.  The coconut water
  2. The Coconut Meat
  3. Coconut Milk
  4. The Coconut Oil
Of all the above, Coconut Oil is the most cherished due to its medicinal  function.  The power of the coconut oil comes from 3 rare acids in nature:
  1.  Lauric acid
  2. Papric  acid
  3. Medium chain fatty acid.
The Cold Pressed coconut oil has the highest lauric acid content due to its mode of preparation.

Questions and Answers
  1.   Can I eat coconut with bread, garri or other foods
  2. Answer:  You may eat coconut with other foods, however, if you want it for medicinal purpose, it must be eaten alone.
  3. Is it the yellow coconut oil we see around that you  are speaking about?
  4. Answer:  that also is coconut  oil , we are particularly concerned with the cold pressed version which is usually produced with less heat.  The reason is because the lauric acid content is higher in the cold pressed version.
  5. Can I make my own oil?  Of course you can make your own coconut  oil either by extracting the nuts from a mature coconut, drying and frying to extract the oil i.  however, you must always strive to reduce heat in extracting coconut oil for best result, it is this cold pressed version that has more of lauric acid, the  disease fighting property,  which is the coconut oil’s secret.
  6. When is the best time to take coconut oil.  It is best as first thing in the morning in empty stomach or last thing at night just like most bacterial fighting medications
  7. Where can we we find the cold pressed coconut oil.
  8. You can find them in big natural food shops, though they are not common like olive oil, more awareness is  still required, we also have a good version of the cold pressed coconut oil.
