Many women have ovarian cyst at one time or the other, most ovarian cyst present little or no discomfort  and are harmless. Again, most cases of  ovarian cyst are benign, or non cancerous , Other cyst however can be cancerous, which is why a diagnosis is required urgently when a cyst is suspected. Though many  of them often disappear without treatment within a few months.  However, some do present with serious symptoms and discomfort and in severe cases may rupture requiring hospital emergency.

What Are Ovarian Cyst

They are fluid filled sacs or pockets in an ovary or on its surface.  Women have two ovaries. Each about the size and shape of an Almond on each side of the uterus.  Eggs which develop and mature in the ovaries are released in monthly cycles  during the child bearing years.

There are two types of ovarian cyst
