Health Benefits of Banana leaves

Have you tried wrapping your foods in banana leaves?.  Foods like moi, moi, rice, Foo Foo etc.  If you have, you will observe, they taste differently and better after the wrap.
The reason for this is coming out gradually as science and research is showing that this often neglect leaf is rich is nutrients that Supports our health naturally.  Nutrients like polyphenols, which act as antioxidants, proteins, legnin, hemicellulous, allantions and some astringent properties. Health Benefits of Banana Leaves
1.  Boost Immunity
Contains allantion, a substance known to boost immunity, accelerate healing, and act as astringent, drinking banana leaves as tea by boiling the leaves can boost the immune system and help prevent ailments like sore throat and various inflammations.
2.  Help reduce Intestinal bleeding
Polyphenol and allantion in dried bananaeaves can help reduce intestinal bleeding in dyscentary.  Drinking the tea can help stop  intestinal bleeding. Banana leaves are non toxic.
3.  Heal Wounds and Skin Irritation
If you have a wound and stay in rural areas with fresh banana leaves.  Just get some leaves and crush in a mortar, place on the affected area.  You can bind with bandage to prevent it from falling.  Change the leaves and bandage 2 to 3 times a day.

The leaves extract can cure dandruffs, maintain healthy scalp and keep the natural colour of the hair.  If you often have itchy and sore scalp, the leaves used as hair mask is proven to be effective in reducing itching and similar ailments relating to the hair.
