Avoid These Foods if you are Diabetic or Prediabetic

                                Introduction

Type 2 diabetes is  very common among people these days although older adults are more  at risk of diabetes or those  that have a family history of diabetes are also at risk those who are overweight are  also at risk but choosing our food wisely can prevent or delay the onset of diabetes even in older adults and those  who are at risk of this  diabetes .  Type 2 diabetes as is when our body's ability to produce insulin is no longer effective or active requiring an external insulin to do the job, this insulin is produced usually by the pancreas to help mop up  the  excess or extra sugar that comes from the food we eat daily but if we continue to eat too much sugar and carbohydrates in our diet overtime our body's ability to produce this enzyme will be reduced or stopped and in that case diseases and other symptoms will begin to show up requiring external insulin which really come from hospitals or through medications:  Here are some common foods to avoid, if you want to heal of diabetes or prevent its early onset.  Avoiding these foods is in addition to avoiding all simple sugars in our diet.  Simple sugars like white sugar, sugarcane, and other  natural foods that comes with simple sugars like  those from white or yellow  pap.  Here are the top foods to be cautious about:

Bread:

White bread is a simple food we like to eat right from childhood even to old age but it is one of the worst foods that can trigger diabetes or our body's inability to produce insulin because it is among the simple sugars and comes with preservatives and other ingredients that does not support fight against diabetes.   it also contributes to weight gain if you are diabetic or pre-diabetic it's important to stay away from white bread.   White bread from my experience is one of the worst foods because after taking white bread and you check your blood sugar you will notice a sudden rise in your sugar showing that it's not good for your blood sugar so it's better to stay away from white bread and seek  for other sources especially as we all love it for breakfast some may want to opt for Wheat bread, which is not the best but occasional wheat is better than white bread because of its high fibre and it  is a source of B group of vitamins but it is still important to add protein to your Whearbread in order to help it because other ingredients including sugars are usually added unless you make your own wheat bread at home which in most cases is not the case.

Biscuits:

It took me some time to come to accept or agree that it is better to stay away from all forms of biscuits if you want to maintain a stable blood sugar before now I was of the view that crackers or other light vegetable biscuits are okay, but not anymore.  They are all the same irrespective of the beautiful packaging and labels.   I was believing that crackers and other dry/light biscuits are okay but I have come to realise that they are also highly acidic because they come with no nutrient but chemicals that helps to support insulin resistance in our body . Though  they may taste light,    look light,  and as a light and even sometimes you feel light,  but the secret with biscuits is that they are highly acidic and inflammatory they also support build up of insulin resistance in the body and so if you are aiming to maintain a stable blood sugar, it  is better to stay away from all kinds of biscuits whether it is crackers, vegetable, onions biscuits  or  which ever biscuit or  whatever name  it is called but as long as it's a biscuit it is better to stay away,  you can take other  snacks like corn nuts if you want to chew on something.   corn nut with a little peanut or  cashew nut,  or other nut like others like  roasted sesame seeds. you can treat them if you feel like doing something but let us avoid the temptation to chew on biscuits I was the victim of it before now  but today it's clear to me that as much as possible it is better to stay away from biscuits in all forms.

White rice:

White rice is another very bad food for diabetes although there are various ways that we can smartly consume white rice in little amount. I have actually observed that when we consume it with protein like chicken talking of  other proteins  from animal and or add vegetables and other spices that helps to lower sugar like cinnamon consuming it moderately may not really trigger the blood sugar but on a general warning consuming it regularly even in this form frequently will not help our blood sugar to be stable so it's better to stay away from white rice and take a local rice in moderation and in the absence of it if you must consume white rice then you must add  a lot of vegetables and other blood sugar lowering  spices and ensure that there is protein  in there,  like Chicken or Turkey or other animal protein or boiled eggs to help it reduce its inflammatory response and effects on our pancreas

Non Dairy Creamer:

These days a lot of people are misled to believe that non-dairy creamer is the best option for diabetes or prediabetics, all  because  they are trying tobabmvoid dairy.  This is also same thing observed amongst other people with health problems but please note that this type of milk is not only cheap because it has nothing to offer to the body it is inflammatory and does not offer nutrients to the body, nor  help diabetes in any way or pre-diabetics.  I have seen a lot of this milk in the market it is cheaper for producers to produce it because they do not use real milk and I think that it is better to take milk occasionally once in a while if you feel like taking milk, go ahead once in a while.   Just go for full cream milk, it helps blood sugar better but do not add much.   This is what I do once in a while  it's not something you need to repeat daily like you used to do before. consuming milk every morning in your tea, but once in a while you will notice that it calms the body, it  is a brain food and is rich in vitamins and minerals too unlike non dairy creamer.  Stay away from non-dairy creamer, it is not your friend it's inflammatory.   Before you buy milk next time in the market read the labels you will discover that most of them will say non-dairy creamer stay away from non-dairy creamer they don't have anything inside, go for full cream if you need milk or full dairy and then you take it moderately once in a while.   Milk is a biblical food as I often say.   There are other biblical foods too, we read  often in the holy book,  biblical foods like we heard of milk and honey in the Bible and a lot of other places  why is land flowing with milk and honey a good land.  You can suggest an answer.  So I don't think milk is bad as a matter of fact it's just that we consume too much of it sometimes and then as we get older we also tend to continue consuming it in the same amount when we are no more growing and the body does not need it again for growth so we must reduce its consumption I think avoiding it totally all the time or abstaining 100% may not be the best for older adult but reducing it and the frequency is what I stand for.

Milk

Regular  milk in all its form is inflammatory and helps  to feed yeast and under pathogens it does not also help with pains especially those like arthritis or those  that have to do with  arteries and all kinds of things because it may tend to clog the arteries and slow down the circulation of blood which is needed for healing though it is also a healing food  in a way because in the absence of pains and inflammation's once in a while I suggest milk in small amount especially the full cream milk take it once in a while in moderation and relax it doesn't cause any harm what happens is frequent consumption of it in large amount is what I do not agree with but taking it frequently also causes insulin resistance I have also personally observed this and done some test to check and I can confidently confirm that consuming milk frequently will support insulin resistance and so it is not good for diabetes to consume milk regularly and in large amount because of its effect on the blood sugar and it is a source of sugar also. Another good side is  that it has complete amino acids and contains a lot of vitamins and minerals that is why once in a while I just feel like I should include it and relax and then give a very long time again before enjoying this biblical food.

Carbonated drinks

Another food to avoid by diabetics and pre-diabetics is carbonated drinks.  Whether it is malt, soft drinks as they call it but in real function, I call them hard drinks.   All  carbonated drinks are full of sugar and highly inflammatory  so if you are working on your blood sugar try  to lower sugar please all the canned drinks should be avoided including, sugar free drinks, they are even worse. Such  drinks which we normally buy along the road while in the car. Or in the traffic, please stay away.  They are not good for your blood sugar they are high in sugar too.

Transfats from Vegetable oils

Transffrom vegetable oil may not be a source of Direct sugar but because of it effect on aged digestive health and because of inflammatory nature and that that is why it is in this list of foods to avoid as much as possible the diabetic need fat from healthy fats like olive oil palm oil peanut oil avocado oil will not another good oils but not artificially manipulated fats into vegetable oils as we see all over the place in our markets and supermarkets as much as possible avoid them most of them are charged with heart-friendly and even diabetic friendly but they are not friendly most of these labels are for commercial advantage and purposes

Watermelon

watermelon is another food that is very bad for diabetes to eat a healthy food is a natural food but everything and pre-diabetics so please be very selective in the type of fruits they consume to avoid complication this is one of the very healthy fruit that is great for health but not healthy for diabetics I know that there are several other fruits like this also a fruits like banana fruits like a pineapple and a lot of them but we can try to manage some of them like pineapple is more amount but watermelon tend to be very very sharp for diabetics and we should please not include it as proof that we can consume we can take one orange with the fibre mintec arrange with the place we can occasionally add lemon to a water can take other non sweet fruits that cucumbers other fruits like like a garden egg and a lot of others like that but avoid all sweet fruits like papaya fruit mangoes golden melon and all the sweet fruits and if you must take them for any reason you will be sure to mix them with another food that will counter is sweetness a fruit like clothes could be added and blended together with it and then tried in small amount if you think you need what is in that in the particular fruits and you desperately want to consume it and said to include something like cinnamon to help with natural insulin production and their the other spices also that you can mix with it or consume it along with it in order to avoid a sudden spike or rise in your blood sugar.

Summary:

Avoiding or being mindful of the above foods in addition to consuming whole foods, low calories vegetables, exercising and Observing water therapy daily will definitely help fix your blood sugar issues.

12 SURPRISING HEALTH BENEFITS OF GOING BAREFOOT YOU PROBABLY DID NOT KNOW

389731-walking-barefoot

Walking barefoot, also known as “earthing” is nolonger a kooky counter-culture, primitive life or poverty. Scientific research has shown that there are a number of remarkable health advantages that go with it.

Earthing means walking barefoot on soil, grass or sand (meaning any natural surface) How and when, wearing of shoes became so fashionable that we tend to wear it wherever we go or is a subject of its own discussions, the fact however remains that we were born with the right shoes.  If you are in doubt, have you ever wondered why mother nature put those hard flesh under your feet.  They are actually meant carry you around.  That is not to say that wearing of shoes is in any way wrong.  The essence is to remind us of the need for moderation.  According, to Livescience.com,  Humans started wearing shoes about 40,000 years ago.

Going barefoot has numerous health benefits,  Here are 12 Proven Health Benefits of going barefoot
  1. We need to bond with the earth electron: This is our origin. Early studies are showing that the health benefits come from the relationship between our bodies and the electrons in the earth. The planet has its own natural charge, and we seem to do better when we are in direct contact with it.
  2. Improves Sleep and reduces pain: A review published in the Journal of Environmental and Public Health looked at a number of studies that highlight how drawing electrons from the earth improves health. In one, chronic pain patients using grounded carbon fiber mattresses slept better and experienced less pain.
  3. Reduce Stress and Boost Immunity: Another study found that earthing changed the electrical activity in the brain, as measured by electroencephalograms. Still other research found that grounding benefited skin conductivity, moderate heart rate variability, improved glucose regulation, reduced stress and boosted immunity.
  4. Walking barefoot increases the Surface charge of red blood cells: One Study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine found that walking barefoot increases the surface charge of red blood cells, As a result, the cells avoid clumping, which decreases blood viscosity. High viscosity is a significant factor in heart disease, which is why so many people take blood thinning aspirin each day to improve their heart health.
  5. Help regulate both the endocrine and nervous systems. Another study also confirmed this as well.

What you Need to Know about Ulcer (part 1)

What is ulcer?

As we are all aware, it is a wound in the stomach depending on where the wound is located.  That is where you will have the pain.  We have peptic ulcer, duodenal ulcer, stomach ulcer, etc. whichever  one.  Our main  concern here is that, it is a wound and gives us pain.  There are anti acids and other blockers recommended but in most cases, it is best to use natural foods and solutions for a sustainable recovery.

As already stated, ulcers simple means a wound, however depending on the location of the wound.  There are 3 popular locations:

Types of Ulcers:

1. Gastric ulcer:  this develops inside the stomach
2.  esophageal ulcers:  these develop inside the esophagus
3.  Duodenal ulcer:  these develop in the upper section of the small intestines called the duodenum

Common Causes

One science-based cause of ulcer is traced to the presence of certain bacteria.
 1. A certain bacteria known as Helicobacter pylori  (H. Pylori)  could cause an ulcer to develop especially with a suppressed immunity.
Other causes of ulcer, though may not be science-based, but are known to cause or aggravate ulcer are:

2. Too much medication:

when we take too much medication especially antibiotics.  The healthy bacteria that should protect us are destroyed along side.  If you know this truth, you will stop antibiotics and depend on fresh garlic for all cases of infection except in life threatening situations where  it is proven that only antibiotics can save us but I have not met such case since I got this knowledge.  If you are in this category.  Then it is time to stop.

3. Too much Caffeine and caffeinated beverages.

Caffeine is a stressor.  They are found in some teas, coffees, bittercola etc. Too much, frequently could lead to to ulcer or hurt an existing ulcer.

4. Too much fasting:

when the stomach is left without food for a long time, if this is consistent, overtime, the hydrochloric acid begins to eat on the walls of the intestine which cause a wound to occur depending on where the wound occurs, that is the location of the ulcer.

5.  Lack of Probiotics

Probiotics is simply talking of fermented foods. These includes:  foods like yoghurt, ogiri, iru, dawadawa, pap, Ijebu garri etc.  All foods that are kept for at least three days/night for bacteria to act on it are in this category.  When consumed regularly, but not too much (If too much, it is an immune suppressor) the healthy bacteria in our gut will always outnumber the unhealthy ones.  As long as the ratio remains like that.  It is difficult for ulcer to occur.  So we should always include these fermented foods in our regular soups and stews and thereby protect ourselves and families from ulcers.  While those already having ulcers will get healed and retain their healing also.  These fermented foods also improve/increase food absorption in our bodies which all work to give us strong immunity against stomach ulcers and similar conditions.

6. Stress

Yes, too much physical and mental stress especially when it is prolonged will affect digestion, absorption of nutrients, and production of stomach acids which cumulatively cause ulcer.  Digesting
food is a huge task, if it continues for a long time, the stomach walls could be wounded coupled with poor absorption,  ulcer could occur.  If you are in this category. It's time to rest and take life easy.  God himself according to the Bible rested on the 7th day.  He is only teaching and showing us the necessity of resting.

7.  Too much spicy and hot foods.

This is a bad habit that leads to ulcer if practised for a long time.  Spices are good but ensure to add sufficient protein.  The Hausas eat their own with suya and other animal protein.  They have this wisdom already. Yet we must be careful of too much spices without protein buffers.  Overtime, ulcer could be the result. If are in this category. Time to retreat

8.  Too much pain killers

Ibuprofen for a long time could cause ulcer too

My Blood Sugar Experience, true story

Introduction

My High blood Sugar Experience, True Story been quite off checking my blood sugar, for over one year, especially after the disposables got exhausted. So it happened last week, my local church organized a medical outreach and I submitted myself for the blood sugar and other tests, Wao guess what,? was quite high😭.

Neglected and Abandoned my Blood Sugar test kit.  Avoid this Error

Was not much of a surprise to me, but never knew, it could be that high. I was advised by the organizers to see the doctor, I said wait first🙆🏽‍♂️. Precisely, was 138 much on the high side, although I have been having symptoms like, poor sleep, early breakfast unlike before, and constipation, been eating bread and ... lately regularly, so it was not a surprise. Though slighly perturbed but I also said to myself, let me even test all these talk, talk about using food as medicine. So I commenced my practicals, prayerfully searched for my blood sugar kit and found it, then took it to a pharmacy on monday to buy those disposables, after paying, I told them to check it, that yesterday, it was 138, the result was 125, they asked what did I do I kept quite, on tuesday I checked in the morning, It was 96,

The blood sugar is Controlled

This morning, It read 85. Was there yesterday at same pharmacy to buy fish oil, one of them called me by the side and said mummy, truly speaking, wetin you do, because we de get customers here daily, one mans own was as high as 400. I said its my business, yours is oyibo drug as a pharmacist, me and you no be the same direction we de follow. I really appreciate God and restating my stand that Food truly is our medicine, but moderation is our rule.

I am not teaching what does not exist. You do not need to continue under that yoke. Mother nature has made provisions already. Only moderation is our rule. Finally finally, the blood sugar this morning is 77, and its time to stop  all the foods that contributed. Most importantly, all Glory goes to Almighty God too.

It actually presented not much symptoms like frequent urination but remember having early breakfast few months before the rise in my blood sugar, Do not neglect to check once in a while, even if you do not have symptoms.  Some may not present symptoms or it may vary with individuals.
When
Summary

Lowering blood sugar is not about a particular food or combo, but a combination of many other things. Like reducing inflammations, being active, including sufficient daily protein especially from plant, including daily vitamin C and occasional fish oil, occasional bitters, nuts, seeds and spices with positive effect on blood sugar, like fenugreek seed, chia seed, flaxseed, cumin, sycamore tea bark, cocoa, green tea etc, even okro soup and ogobono seed are all great for regulating blood sugar, you must also consider your own particular need by listening to your body. With moderate exercise. Food remains our medicine but moderation is our rule.

Ginger Root, Same Spice, Different Compounds

Introduction

The question on whether fresh or dried ginger which is better or healthier has been on,  in my mind for a long time because I have noticed that the smell and fragrance of dry ginger powder remains strong and inviting unlike other dried powders showing that its efficacy is still there because I can smell it.   If you want to know how good or well a food is, start by smelling it our nose I believe is the first laboratory that gives us result to make a choice whether a food is edible or healthy and so if you have been neglecting this organ before now,  you have to do a re think because when you smell something and it does not smell nice there is no need to go ahead and consume it because it definitely will not be good for your body so I have observed that dried garlic powder does not look or smell  to me like fresh garlic,  while  the ginger powder  after many months or weeks it  still show signs that the active ingredients are still there and so I began to investigate and came across this article from Healthy and Natural World which inspired me to share some of the things I gained from that article saying  that dried ginger is quite potent as I thought and sometimes even more potent, the study also showed that when dried ginger also Changes but in a positive way with all the active ingredients unlike in some dried fruits and foods we need to also be aware that when a food is dried it is sonetimes different from when it is fresh when some foods are dried  there are even more powerful and more nutrient-dense like moringa then when some foods are dried they lose their nutrients so it is important to know which foods  belong to which category but good to know that Ginger powder is as Potent and sometimes even more potent than ginger  fresh ginger root I have always advocated for fresh varieties of most foods that we eat but there is always an exception so if you have fresh ginger and also have dried ginger keep your them both and  enjoy very well because nothing is lost in the dried ginger.  Here are key differences between dried ginger and fresh ginger root according to that article that I read:

Fresh Ginger:

Most of us are familiar with the numerous health benefits of ginger like improving blood circulation reducing pain killing his and supporting weight loss fighting inflammation helping with that managing diabetes and several other benefits is one of the most popular Spice that we use at home today using it in cooking now I'm using it to make tea using it with honey as a cough syrup or mixture using it to boil our habit is right is Noble and several other ways that we consume this Spice including two in the fresh ginger root another two word of cold or cough but many of us also take the ginger as fresh now it is important for us to know the difference between the fresh ginger and the dried ginger I have been desirous to know this long before now because I've always known that there is always some additional difference when a food is dried and when it is fresh so fresh ginger is healthy and Potent is a source of powerful medicinal properties gingerol and Zingiberene.

Dried Ginger:

Keep your Dried ginger powder, will keep mine too, also  use fresh ginger when available, their components are not the same,   it may surprise you to know that when the fresh ginger is dried and ground to powder another active ingredients is present in ginger which was not present in the fresh ginger and that active ingredients according to the study is Shogaol.  According to Healthy and Natural World "There is a Scientific evidence to show that using dried ground ginger actually increases the Potency of its health Benefits".

6 Shogaol was shown to posses powerful anticancer properties too.

Some studies have shown that 6- Shogaol, present in dried ginger powder was superior to the other ginger compounds.

What Happens when we Cook with Ginger

It is important to know how to consume ginger in order to get all the benefits when Ginger was heated according to the study especially when heated for a long time it lost some of its active ingredients but when it was heated for a shorter time like 6 minutes the ingredients and the active compounds increased so this means that we should not overcook our ginger as some of us often do.  It is  best to put it when the food is getting ready towards  the end of over cooking you should include in order to get more of the benefits of ginger and better still taking it  aa tea is also very good because it will not be overheated so if you have been neglecting dried ginger like myself it's time to begin to keep your dried ginger take them and still  also consume your fresh ginger because they both have nutrients to deliver they are both Powerful and the dried powder is even more powerful.   Remember that we should  take it moderately do not take too much ginger if you're on a blood thinning medication, if you are preparing to go for surgery if you are experiencing ulcer pain do not take too much so as not to get negative effect.   Too much ginger is not good , also ginger is quite hot.

Summary

In summary, continue to enjoy ginger in your meals to improve health but when using dried ginger, I like to sieve it because no matter how grounded it is, the granules are still rough and hard on intestine, it is also better whenever possible to dry and grind it yourself so you can be sure of what you are consuming.

Mix these two and use as Massage for Nerve Pain

Introduction

Many people may not be familiar with nerve pain because nerve-related pain does not just happen.  Most times diabetes pre-diabetic, those with high blood pressure often come up with complaints of nerve  pain, the pain be due to several other factors but recently I had managed a nerve injury that occurred due to high  blood pressure and possible blood sugar. I believe that complications of either of them could damage nerves as in this case. Again the location of the injury may vary with affected persons.  A recent nerve pain I managed was caused by   high blood pressure and probably uncontrolled blood sugar so if you are experiencing nerve  pain due to other causes you can also have hope that it can be cured.   Sometimes those who experience nerve pain gets worried, wondering  if this pain will ever go away? but there is  a man I had the  privilege of assisting with nerve pain that has almost recovered, I remember he often asked this question  and today he nolonger asked the question. The last therapy was a topical massage using African Shea Butter with Black Kernel oil  I thought to share it so those who are experiencing or handling nerve pain can try it. it is something very common among us. Use  for massage but before you commence with this massage here are other  top foods to include in your diet to help the healing process commence from inside while you are using the massage also.  It helps too, but  I do strongly believe that diet and  proper nutrition comes first when you come to healing of our bodies naturally.  So we must include healing foods.  Here are some of the foods to include in your diet in addition to massage if you suffer nerve pain:

Other Likely Causes of Nerve Pain:

Before listing foods and steps that led to the recovery, here are other likely causes of tingling and pains in your hands and feet:  Some studies have identified lack of B1 and B12 to contribute to nerve injury and pain. Others are emotional trauma, digestive problems, lack of exercise, Too much refined carbs which helps deplete our body of B1 and B12.  In this particular case, here are the regular foods in the diet that brought about the healing

Efirin:

Most green vegetables are healing foods including healing nerves.  However, some vegetables tend to contain more healing properties like this vegetable, it  is   common around us and known for several other benefits apart from lowering blood sugar, this aspect of this vegetable may not be known to many of us.   if you are going through nerve pain nerve related issues it's important to begin to include this very vegetable in your diet moderately, some people mix it and drink with some herbs like bitter Leaf Maybe while trying to use it to Lower sugar or for other reasons, but including it in your diet regularly may help to  lower your blood sugar which most in cases contributes to nerve damage I know someone who suffered a nerve damage due to high blood pressure and has recovered from it but at the beginning he was asking will this pain ever go away by the left hand side around the neck down towards the left leg.   However,  today he is singing a new song but this did not just happen one day.  Several of these foods were included as he was directed in his regular diet and gradually gradually it began to heal and he noticed it too when the healing was taking place I feel something like scratching around the area and he was convinced that the nerve is healing but the maintaining of the blood pressure and reducing of sugar in the diet was also crucial to this healing

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is known for helping with natural insulin production, it  is also great for heart health is great also for blood pressure for aiding digestion and for reducing yeast infestation in the body but this aspect also may not be known to many including cinnamon in the diet also helps to calm down nerve related pains or I have already stated earlier that most of these pains are due to high blood pressure and sometimes high blood sugar not controlled.  Cinnamon helps with natural insulin production and is great for diabetics and diabetes no wonder it has positive effect for those going through nerve pain including it moderately in your diet in your meals may help overtime to reduce the nerve pain.

Water leaf and bitterleaf soup:

If you are wondering which food to eat or soup to use for your swallow,  this combination of water  Leaf and bitter Leaf soup is not something that you can read from internet or anywhere but you can always make your own preparation based on the knowledge what are live is powerful for lowering blood pressure and is easily digestible and rich in nutrients and then bitter Leaf also is rich in antioxidants now if you have not tried preparing soup with water Leaf and bitter leaf then you have to try it using a little tomatoes also the waterleaf is meant to serve as a thickner because the bitter Leaf comes with a lot of fibre both soluble and insoluble fibre so using it helps to calm those with nerve pain it helps probably,  because it also helps to manage blood pressure and inflammations.  it's a great addition to take if you are looking for things to reduce inflammations,  to nourish you from inside and reduce nerve pain.

Dates

Dates fruit is rich in B vitamins making it a great addition when healing nerve pains and similar conditions.   Dates could be taken  as fruits or as powder or even the syrup is a great addition for nerve pain it's easily digestible and rich in nutrients but we must be cautious with it because it is  quite sweet so I suggest that those who are managing nerve pain can include it in their diet because it's a rich source of nutrients that support digestive health nutrients that gives you energy without raising the blood pressure, it  a is a fruit that supports healthy blood pressure and diabetics also can use it cautiously because I have noticed that it is a source of fibre and if used cautiously does not cause spike in blood sugar especially when you add cinnamon to help counter its  sugary effect.  you can  add it to some of your teas or cereals  and then  whatch as your nerve pain begins to heal.  It  is a healing food, It is also a  raw  food which are best absorbed.

Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne Pepper which we all know as shombo makes  a great addition because it helps to improve blood circulation and to relax the arteries , you can add it to your diet in all your meals, you can also take it as tea though  I have not been taking it in this manner but those who have used it has testified of relief, it  work  to relax blood vessels also because when there is tension around these blood vessels then next thing is to  increase blood pressure,  Cayenne Pepper is a positive one  there are other peppers  but Cayenne  Pepper is  unique in a way so include it moderately if you are managing nerve pain.

Kudin Tea:

Already  I talked about Kudin tea,  but it's important to emphasize that it showed positive effect on the person managing nerve pain so if you are going through nerve  pain, try including or drinking this tea,  you will notice a relief as I was told I am not the sufferer but based on report from the user of the tea, which we decided to try for the nerve pain. we must also remember to take it moderately don't overdo it if you do, it if you take it easy wait for  some days before you take again don't continue taking it continuously so that you won't have a negative effect or a negative side of it  about3 times a week best in the morning or at night.  it's great for a lot of other things like reducing blood sugar and then toning down blood pressure, supporting heart health, improving sleep quality and a lot of other benefits too.

Pomegranate tea

pomegranate tea is good for those that are dealing with nerve related issue. there are other red teas that you can take because most red teas  and drinks help to clean up the arteries and help to relax the arteries too, you can also try beet root it's great too.  Most of the red fruits or drinks are great for  nerve issues just  as they are great for high blood pressure,  supports heart health, Hibiscus tea is also one of such teas it  is great  especially when you can pair it with a little lemongrass you will notice that, it offers relief because these teas are naturally caffeine-free so they support the healing of the nerve also.

Almonds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds are rich in calcium and magnesium to support nerve health and recovery.

For Massage:  Shea Butter mixed with black kernel oil

Having done all the above or included them in your diet you also need topical massage and sometime foot soak in the water because our feet is very important when it comes to healing of  things like nerves because it helps to support circulation it has to be at the same temperature with the  entire body when you the feet  is always cold, for instance you will be experiencing  more the nerve pain will increase so you need to keep the feet warm and then massage the feet  and make a mixture of shea butter with black Kernel oil for massage.   there are other massage  oilsthat shows positive effect but this particular one is a recent finding which excites me and I thought I should share it here for the benefit of others. to start using this oil to massage the area and you will notice a relief especially around the area where the nerve pain is hurting.

Exercising:  Remember to include moderate exercise daily in addition to the massage.

Summary:

In summary it's important to exercise patience when managing nerve pain it takes a little time to heal from the experience of those I know but eventually it heals.    if you follow these things within  3 weeks  or a month you will begin to experience relief but do not expect instant magic for it to totally heal  you will notice a relief when you massage and when you eat the right food but for total healing.  it may  require sometimes 3 to 4 months because it has to heal from inside but I assure you you, it will heal, even if it takes longer.

Check out these 5 Foods, Your Hearts Best Friends

Introduction

The heart is the powerhouse of the entire body began to pump from the day we were born until the last day we breat our last.  it is therefore important to protect and guard this important organ especially as we age.   Certain foods tend  to damage our heart such as foods that are high in cholesterol, foods that are high in fat, foods that are high in animal protein these are the top foods that cause our heart to be weak and also too much spices and  chemicals from processed foods.  So as we get older, we should try  to reduce the consumption all foods that will hurt our heart I have come to realise that there are foods that our heart loves over the years, I came to this conclusion and here are my  top 5

Green Vegetables

If you are aiming to preserve your heart and to keep it healthy you must embrace more of green vegetables there are variety of green vegetables and many of them are quite low in calorie and I think it is this calorie aspect that makes the greens super for the heart.  The common ones around us here are pumpkin leaves  spinach, bitter leaf, kale,  waterleaf, efirin and several others.  We can include them  moderately and they are best  in the morning duing the breakfast or last thing at night I have realised that here are best time to eat these vegetables.  Over the years I've been eating them at night only  which is quite good because green greens are healing foods if you are suffering any element and you want healing you should focus on more of the greens and not only the greens that are also others like   cruciferous vegetables.  they are low in calorie veggies such as cabbage,  onions and similar ones like that.  they are healing food.

Cayenne  pepper

Another food that is super healthy for our heart is the Cayenne pepper we are already familiar with this paper as I have talked about it on several occasions, It  is great for the heart because of its  circulatory function and  benefits it helps improve blood circulation and any food or Spice that improves blood circulation is a heart friendly food.  There are  several others but this one particularly is unique in the way it manages blood vessels the way it works with blood vessels research has shown that it supports ourvm heart in a very special way.  I call it our hearts best friend and those who are experiencing heart issues should always keep this pepper around because it could save someone from a heart attack.  Can find it in ground forms like dried and ground and its best to ground the dried peppers yourself.   or get the  fresh versions during the season but it's available all through  the season and they are also   very Potent but whenever possible use the fresh cayenne pepper.

Red wines

Red drinks and wines.  Talking the red wines those with red colour red drinks like beetroot Hibiscus flower tea and several other red drinks and wines are super healthy for the heart including soghurm,  these  are from the grains of sorghum bicolor  grains, I have had occasion to test  most of these teas even pomegranate they're all great for the heart they help to strengthen the heart and support its function.  It  is important to have them around there could be occasions when you just feel your heart isn't what it should be then you go for them.   but I don't also recommend or suggest continuous or daily use of them because I have tried it in that way and  noticed it doesn't go well it's just once in a while you take this red wines and drinks  and expect them to help cleanse the heart,  to clear the heart and strengthen the muscles as well.

Fatty Fish

Fish Oil:  You can find this in fatty fish like sardines, salmon, Mackerel and others or you can supplement occasionally with a good fish oil to help strengthen your heart.

Water

We can not talk too much about water  therapy and how it supports our entire body, building the heart .  so sufficient water solution to water you always be taken to help the heart function at its best to support its function and then another thing that can weaken our heart is stress.   As much as possible please  reduce stress and find time to rest and relax during the day even 30 minutes, though I am still trusting God to give me Grace in this aspect, some people hardly rest or sleep during the day.

Summary

There are several other heart healthy foods, but these are my top 5 and best for older adults.  Remember that moderation is our rule.

Consuming Soaked Almonds May Prevent Some Type of Headaches and improve Heart Health

Introduction

Consuming soaked almond may help  prevent headaches and improve heart health with several other benefits. Almonds may not  be popular in some areas like my area but you can find them in most supermarkets or health shops.  It is one of the nuts  loaded with nutrients that benefits the health of older adults especially those that needs calcium,  those  that  needs magnesium, those that needs to support heart health and numerous other benefits.

In my earlier article I shared the experience of a severe  headache and how it was reversed through natural foods and some changes but one of the points that needs to be noted also as a follow-up to this healing is that for some time soaked almond was absent in the diet and that was neglected but now I know that almond should be  consume moderately and also regularly in order to avoid those deficiencies with such effects such as heart issues low calcium,  high blood sugar, high blood pressure and other inflammations .  Here are more  reasons why you should  include almonds in your diet while reducing your consumption of peanuts because peanuts , because is inflammatory and there are other nuts also but including almond moderately goes a long way and supplies most of the needed nutrients that comes from that.  Soaked your almonds for about 7 hrs or overnight, it helps   reduce inhibitors and makes its nutrients available to the body.

Calcium and Magnesium

Calcium and magnesium are called neutrons for preventing occurrences like headaches muscle pulling,  insomnia,  low energy, heart issues and many other health problems if these two nutrients s are not supplied there may  be much health issues caused by their deficiency.

Blood Sugar Control

If you are diabetic or pre-diabetic or just trying to improve and support your health generally you can include almonds  and soaking them in order to maintain a proper blood sugar control I have been enjoying the almonds and it has actually been also helping to regulate blood sugar, against type 2 diabetes.

Reduce Headaches

I never realised the importance of this nut until I stayed away  from it for sometime due to the high cost and non availability and something like that never happened before which is the headache which I  earlier wrote about happened to me, right now I have learned my lessons and trying to ensure that I continue to make it a part of my diet because of its role and its density in nutrition in order to avoid cases  like headaches due to low Calcium,  Magnesium  and other nutrients.

Reduce Bad Cholesterol

High level of bad cholesterol can pose danger to our  health generally and this nut is one food that can help to lower bad cholesterol it is good to always soak it before consuming, depend on the size I prefer to take it at night you last thing at night before bed about 3 or 4 depending on how many nut taken during the day.

Fights Insomnia

If you are having problem falling asleep or staying asleep then you need to switch to this nut because it helps the brain and head generally to calm the brain and supply nutrients needed for a good night's sleep.  I think this may be due to the presence of calcium which is also needed for this activity and magnesium too.

Brain Food.

Almond  is a good source of vitamin E which  supports healthy brain function and communication,  so soaking your almond also helps the body and the brain to use the nutrients without any form of inhibition which is usually the case with just consuming almond without soaking.

How many  to Consume

Be careful not to consume too much, I suggest maximum of 5 or 6 if you have not taken other nuts, but if you have taken other nuts during the day, 3 or 4 are okay before bed, this is  what I take.  It supports skin and eye  health too due the presence of vitamin E.  Moderation is our rule.

Summary

It is better to reduce other nuts during the day if you intend to consume almonds at night before bed, surprisingly I had occasion to consume it at odd hrs like 12midnight when sleep was not coming and it worked too.

These 6 Things I did and a pounding Headache ŵas gone.

Introduction

Headache  could happen to anyone. it Could happen to children and to youth also  but most times if the causes could be detected ,surely we can use food as medicine If only, We know what to eat at the right time. Here are 6 things I did to ward off this headache.   Yes it was something that has not happened for several years but this time around it came knocking,  from back towards the front, after considering the events and activities before this headache, here are the 6 things I did and thanks to God  that has helped me to ward if off by doing these  things. and the others was to reduce screen time, also warm water therapy

Fish oil:

Fish oil is a rich source of healthy fats especially rare omega 3 fats.  There have been several videos and articles on the health benefits of fish oil, but know these truths is one thing, another is putting the knowledge to work is another.  I had to use fish oil during the week to help deal with a headache and it worked but don't be fast to start consuming fish oil for headache without knowing the type of your own headache and understanding if that is what your body needs at the particular time.  In this case, I had left my occasional fish oil for a long time and taken some herbal teas, coupled with more time on screen, so my first suspicion was  this supplement, actually took it to help relax my eyes, but we must understand that also  that our  eyes is somehow connected to the brain,so it seems to me that each time the eyes are stressed, the head responds with a headache.  So in this case, stress on the eyes may have also contributed to the headache trigger.  I usually prefer the 300mg twice daily, but since it was not available, I started with 1000mg  the first day, improvement was noticed, then the 2nd day, I continued with 300mg twice and by the third day,  headache was gone.

Moringa Seeds:

I have observed over a time that low iron may cause some kind of headache which I had  the experience as a young lady but this time around it's different I still had to start on very low calorie foods that are dense in nutrition with vitamin C foods that can also help to detox my system because I suspected toxic load in this instance due to certain foods I consumed during the week I noticed that there is toxic overload so I decided to start my morning the second day with moringa seeds just three seeds after consuming fenugreek oil just about half capful the reason for the fenugreek  oil was in case it is linked to some insulin resistance and again another reason for the fenugreek oil I took was  in case also it was digestive problem because I had been experiencing constipation lately and digestive problems so after water therapy on that second day I took fenugreek oil because sugar is always a suspect when older adults come up with one problem or the other so I started with a little fenugreek oil another work of fenugreek seeds is that it's good for cases like malaria symptoms because fenugreek seeds is actually a slightly bitter seed which is good for digestive health when you take the water or the tea so in this case I took a little of it and then topped it  with moringa seeds,   moringa seeds and before the moringa seeds  also added lemon juice to my water therapy which I had already left for quite some time additionally I also chewed two cloves of garlic now why all these things are being done is because there are different types of strains of bacteria and I am aware that most of the things that may cause digestive issues may be made worst by the presence of bacteria and other microbes so I decided to tackle it from different directions including all the spices that are good and tackling bacterial infections so I took 2 cloves  that morning in addition to this I decided to relax after doing moderate exercise

So after all of these I noticed something like a bowel  movement that looked like I was going to have a running tummy which I needed you will agree with me that there are times when you know  that what you need is a mild cleanse like a purgative but I do not recommend purgatives as a medicine but we can take natural foods in a way that it will act as a mild purgative because if we take purgative sometimes it may help destroy our gut health and if the purging continues and is not able to be controlled for various reasons that could lead to an Hospital emergency.   So after all of these just before 12 midday,  I noticed a serious bowel  movement  and after that  movement I concluded that I'm already on the part of Victory and you know that most people when you have anything threatening your health or your life once you have a bowel movement that you successfully excrete a reasonable number of the waste toxins in your system you will know that you're already on the part of recovery no matter what the problem may be especially if you needed it like in this case.  So after that very day I began to feel much better I began to feel much better.

Cloves:

On the second day I took about three cloves after washing it I chewcd it in the morning in addition to the moringa seeds the clove oil and the clothes is to tackle bacteria that my intention was to Taco bacterias stubborn bacterial and yeast and to stop viral action of the if any bacteria was responsible actually because the headache doesn't just happen I've realised over the years that most headaches are linked connected from the gut so you when addressing headache , it is  the gut health that are usually the target once the gut health is resolved headache also most times was settle so I know there is a very serious link between our gut  and our brain so that is why I was also targeting it so if you suspect headache or just sudden headache like continuously it is better to check what you are eating or if there is any change in your diet because it can trigger a headache too because of this relationship which I have noticed over the years that there is a serious link between our gut and our brain so in this case to I took it to reduce the activity of bacteria or viruses and to reduce acidity most importantly because I said it is also a major problem when it comes to things like this and I have successfully used cloves before to ward off a headache.  I remembered it and I decided to also use it again so as  to reduce the acid in the body and it worked for me it worked as soon as I took it , I began to notice some improvements

Guava leaves tea

Guava leaves tea the next thing I decided to include was guava leaf tea, I went and got some fresh leaves around and boiled a little like five leaves, boil  and began to sip it and my reason for taking it is for hormonal purposes  and to reduce fat when we have health challenge or something is disturbing us we must also target the unhealthy fats those things like fats,   that is as a result of what you eat and  apart from the unhealthy fats it is also a source of iron and to balance hormone most important and as I began to take it,  I notice also some calmness because it's a mild sedative tea because of his naturally caffeine-free so when I began to take it, I began to feel the cameras to sleep and that was also the beginning of the healing I noticed that it began to calm me down and I noticed also that  my stomach began to move and if there was another reason why I also included the guava Leaf was that it helps control  diarrhoea.  Something that may look like a diarrhoea because when you actually experience  bowel movement like a a number of times,  if nothing is done there  is every likelihood that it will continue to a point that you may require medication to stop it and so it was what made me   to take a little of this tea sipping  it a little from time to time so as to kill the bacteria that could cause the diarrhoea  to get out of control and frankly speaking it also worked for me and I noticed it that when I began to take this  tea  I began to pass out gas gradually consistently showing that it was working so I did not go to the toilet for 2 days. f2 days was not much as it is indication  that healing was taking place because if it has continued the diarrhoea would have been something that will require medical attention so each  time we loose our balance internally it requires a lot of wisdom to restore it and if you need even to consult a more experienced health coach or Assistant, it  is a good idea if you noticed these things because sometimes we get confused, the fact that I did all these and it worked it may not mean that it will work exactly the same way it depends on the type of headaches and the cause.  Different types of headaches and varying causes so if you understand your own cause  and  the type, then you should be able to also take another dimension.  that are other foods  that I included to help me to Alkaline my body like green apple and cucumbers,  I also took one apple I have an apple and have cucumbers in the period and then I decided to slow down certain foods like nuts I stayed   way from roasted  African breadfruit,  cashews,  and all of that in order not to increase acidity in the body, foods like bananas too were avoided,  though   not a fan of it but it could trigger headache or  make it worse if you are trying to reduce the body  weight.  Another important tool to heal a headache is to  stay away from foods that are high in calories in order not to worsen your case

Moringa seeds

I already stated earlier about moringa seeds how  I started  by chewing moringa seeds just two seeds because it's quite sweet for me  but the reason was obvious it has no calorie and one of the things about headaches is avoiding or reducing calories.   if you are experiencing headache avoid high  calorie foods, it doesn't also like much spices too.   I have actually not had  headache for more than 13 years and so this one was a surprise to me but I thank God that He took control.

Reduce screen

The last thing I also did was to reduce my screen time because writing on the blog, editing checking the WhatsApp, a lot of Facebooks and all the social medias sometime puts a strain on my eyes which was the case this time around so I actually decided to reduce the screen time so once it's 8:30 pm or 8.20 I was done for the day so that the eyes could rest as much as possible and as I did that also I began to feel some calmness and relaxation in the head.   Too much screen time can also cause tension and may trigger a headache sometimes we tend to overdo it for various reasons maybe we want to meet peoples needs, want to convince ourselves that we are working or  just for the joy of just doing what we love to do so we should apply caution in all of these and may God grant us the grace to always do this.

Summary:

There could be many wonderful remedies for headaches out there but this is a real life story and what worked .

See My Latest Addition to Get More Omega 3 Fatty Acids and Why

Introduction

If you have been wondering which of the fishes  to include in your diet, then  consider omega-3 food sources because of the benefits of Omega-3 fatty acids in the body I have actually also been looking for healthy food that will provide me with Omega-3 fatty acids in addition to the existing ones then I suddenly found this fish which has been in existence for long but somehow I found it at last,  horse mackerel popularly called Kotr  in Nigeria is a common fish in our local market they seem to be more popular in the Eastern part of the country I recently I decided to buy this fish frozen version of this fish to make soup as I'm not always really a fan of it but when I saw the particular one that appealed  to my eyes I thought that this must be freshly caught and  I went for it then after making it with my vegetable soup, wow I consume this food and noticed something after listening to my body and that is the anti-inflammatory effect and I suddenly spoke aloud that this fish must be one of the fishes I have been looking for it seems it contains Omega-3 fatty acids. To further confirm my feelings I say okay I'm going to search for it and read as much as possible about this fish, and my guess was right  after doing that I thought, it  is important also to share my thought, my findings as in consuming this fish and what various writers also may have said or written.

Here are the top reasons why I will henceforth include this fish as one of my regular fishes to boost my health.   I finally discovered it,  a good source of Omega-3 fatty acids and protein, it  is a source of B12 and selenium and these are real nutrients in nature and if you are a health-conscious person who want to support heart health and numerous other benefits you may also consider switching occasionally to this particular fish horse mackerel the frozen  version is the one I used.   Here are  top reasons why it has entered my list.

1. Heart Health:

Horse mackerel or cote as we call it is highly anti-inflammatory and it is  a good support for those who are experiencing heart-related issues I will suggest women in their menopausal years to start consuming this  fish at least twice in a week because of this nutrient which I firstly noticed by listening to my body and secondly by reading what research has said about it. It  is a heart healthy fish, a source of nutrients like protein for building strong bones and others.  like selenium which also helps to   support heart and brain health too.

2. Bones:

Omega-3, selenium,  B12 protein and several other nutrients that support bone health is one of the reasons you should consider also including it  in your list.  I didn't really use to like it before now probably because it was not really taste so wonderfully like other fishes it has that kind of bland tastr  when you use it to cook unless those that fry and do other seasonings of course it's good to season it or else it doesn't really taste nice like some other fishes but it's loaded, it's not about the taste this time around, but about our health and wellness if you need something to support your bone especially as you are aging, this is one of the features that you should be adding regularly in your diet talking of fresh ones.  The best is  frozen one but in absence of it you can take smoked one but when they are smoked,  you  wouldn't know the condition of the fish before it it is smoked so that is why it is always better to go for fresh or frozen.

3. Protein:

Each day we must keep searching for protein because protein is the building block for building nuisance and repairing the ones that have been destroyed so what more will you be looking in the food it's all about protein it's more difficult to get protein sufficiently in the Diner diet than carbohydrates and sugar as this are available in almost all the food except protein so is a rich source of protein and we should also consider it to be able to fight ailments like diabetes to resist things like obesity this is one of the things protein does for us it keeps you Fuller for longer and they reduce the frequency of infections also

4. Brain Health

Omega 3  food sources such as found in this fish  is great for brain health because of this particular nutrient  and protein it may help prevent brain degeneration which happen in the elderly .

5. Thyroid Function

If you are searching for foods to support your thyroid Health , then   consider including this fish moderately in your diet because of the nutrients, it  is a dense fish which I have exper. ienced through my own body which usually speak to me when I consume certain foods, especially uncommon foods.  I believe many may have also been feeling well after consuming this fish without knowing why. Now you know.

summary

In addition to supporting thyroid health, it  is also a source of  support to our  the immune  support,  supporting  healthy digestion, reducing  constipation and several other benefits what more will you be looking for  in a food and relatively low in fat and Calorie this is one of the  most interesting aspect of this fish especially  when compared to other fishes.   Remember not to consume too much of it because of risk of mercury  as they are caught in our contaminated  rivers and oceans.   moderation is our rule but enjoy it modestly include it in your list as I have done and then enjoy a healthy body and strong immunity reducing risk of heart disease,  heart failure,  heart attack and other heart-related issues
