Consuming Soaked Almonds May Prevent Some Type of Headaches and improve Heart Health

Introduction

Consuming soaked almond may help  prevent headaches and improve heart health with several other benefits. Almonds may not  be popular in some areas like my area but you can find them in most supermarkets or health shops.  It is one of the nuts  loaded with nutrients that benefits the health of older adults especially those that needs calcium,  those  that  needs magnesium, those that needs to support heart health and numerous other benefits.

In my earlier article I shared the experience of a severe  headache and how it was reversed through natural foods and some changes but one of the points that needs to be noted also as a follow-up to this healing is that for some time soaked almond was absent in the diet and that was neglected but now I know that almond should be  consume moderately and also regularly in order to avoid those deficiencies with such effects such as heart issues low calcium,  high blood sugar, high blood pressure and other inflammations .  Here are more  reasons why you should  include almonds in your diet while reducing your consumption of peanuts because peanuts , because is inflammatory and there are other nuts also but including almond moderately goes a long way and supplies most of the needed nutrients that comes from that.  Soaked your almonds for about 7 hrs or overnight, it helps   reduce inhibitors and makes its nutrients available to the body.

Calcium and Magnesium

Calcium and magnesium are called neutrons for preventing occurrences like headaches muscle pulling,  insomnia,  low energy, heart issues and many other health problems if these two nutrients s are not supplied there may  be much health issues caused by their deficiency.

Blood Sugar Control

If you are diabetic or pre-diabetic or just trying to improve and support your health generally you can include almonds  and soaking them in order to maintain a proper blood sugar control I have been enjoying the almonds and it has actually been also helping to regulate blood sugar, against type 2 diabetes.

Reduce Headaches

I never realised the importance of this nut until I stayed away  from it for sometime due to the high cost and non availability and something like that never happened before which is the headache which I  earlier wrote about happened to me, right now I have learned my lessons and trying to ensure that I continue to make it a part of my diet because of its role and its density in nutrition in order to avoid cases  like headaches due to low Calcium,  Magnesium  and other nutrients.

Reduce Bad Cholesterol

High level of bad cholesterol can pose danger to our  health generally and this nut is one food that can help to lower bad cholesterol it is good to always soak it before consuming, depend on the size I prefer to take it at night you last thing at night before bed about 3 or 4 depending on how many nut taken during the day.

Fights Insomnia

If you are having problem falling asleep or staying asleep then you need to switch to this nut because it helps the brain and head generally to calm the brain and supply nutrients needed for a good night's sleep.  I think this may be due to the presence of calcium which is also needed for this activity and magnesium too.

Brain Food.

Almond  is a good source of vitamin E which  supports healthy brain function and communication,  so soaking your almond also helps the body and the brain to use the nutrients without any form of inhibition which is usually the case with just consuming almond without soaking.

How many  to Consume

Be careful not to consume too much, I suggest maximum of 5 or 6 if you have not taken other nuts, but if you have taken other nuts during the day, 3 or 4 are okay before bed, this is  what I take.  It supports skin and eye  health too due the presence of vitamin E.  Moderation is our rule.

Summary

It is better to reduce other nuts during the day if you intend to consume almonds at night before bed, surprisingly I had occasion to consume it at odd hrs like 12midnight when sleep was not coming and it worked too.

These 6 Things I did and a pounding Headache ŵas gone.

Introduction

Headache  could happen to anyone. it Could happen to children and to youth also  but most times if the causes could be detected ,surely we can use food as medicine If only, We know what to eat at the right time. Here are 6 things I did to ward off this headache.   Yes it was something that has not happened for several years but this time around it came knocking,  from back towards the front, after considering the events and activities before this headache, here are the 6 things I did and thanks to God  that has helped me to ward if off by doing these  things. and the others was to reduce screen time, also warm water therapy

Fish oil:

Fish oil is a rich source of healthy fats especially rare omega 3 fats.  There have been several videos and articles on the health benefits of fish oil, but know these truths is one thing, another is putting the knowledge to work is another.  I had to use fish oil during the week to help deal with a headache and it worked but don't be fast to start consuming fish oil for headache without knowing the type of your own headache and understanding if that is what your body needs at the particular time.  In this case, I had left my occasional fish oil for a long time and taken some herbal teas, coupled with more time on screen, so my first suspicion was  this supplement, actually took it to help relax my eyes, but we must understand that also  that our  eyes is somehow connected to the brain,so it seems to me that each time the eyes are stressed, the head responds with a headache.  So in this case, stress on the eyes may have also contributed to the headache trigger.  I usually prefer the 300mg twice daily, but since it was not available, I started with 1000mg  the first day, improvement was noticed, then the 2nd day, I continued with 300mg twice and by the third day,  headache was gone.

Moringa Seeds:

I have observed over a time that low iron may cause some kind of headache which I had  the experience as a young lady but this time around it's different I still had to start on very low calorie foods that are dense in nutrition with vitamin C foods that can also help to detox my system because I suspected toxic load in this instance due to certain foods I consumed during the week I noticed that there is toxic overload so I decided to start my morning the second day with moringa seeds just three seeds after consuming fenugreek oil just about half capful the reason for the fenugreek  oil was in case it is linked to some insulin resistance and again another reason for the fenugreek oil I took was  in case also it was digestive problem because I had been experiencing constipation lately and digestive problems so after water therapy on that second day I took fenugreek oil because sugar is always a suspect when older adults come up with one problem or the other so I started with a little fenugreek oil another work of fenugreek seeds is that it's good for cases like malaria symptoms because fenugreek seeds is actually a slightly bitter seed which is good for digestive health when you take the water or the tea so in this case I took a little of it and then topped it  with moringa seeds,   moringa seeds and before the moringa seeds  also added lemon juice to my water therapy which I had already left for quite some time additionally I also chewed two cloves of garlic now why all these things are being done is because there are different types of strains of bacteria and I am aware that most of the things that may cause digestive issues may be made worst by the presence of bacteria and other microbes so I decided to tackle it from different directions including all the spices that are good and tackling bacterial infections so I took 2 cloves  that morning in addition to this I decided to relax after doing moderate exercise

So after all of these I noticed something like a bowel  movement that looked like I was going to have a running tummy which I needed you will agree with me that there are times when you know  that what you need is a mild cleanse like a purgative but I do not recommend purgatives as a medicine but we can take natural foods in a way that it will act as a mild purgative because if we take purgative sometimes it may help destroy our gut health and if the purging continues and is not able to be controlled for various reasons that could lead to an Hospital emergency.   So after all of these just before 12 midday,  I noticed a serious bowel  movement  and after that  movement I concluded that I'm already on the part of Victory and you know that most people when you have anything threatening your health or your life once you have a bowel movement that you successfully excrete a reasonable number of the waste toxins in your system you will know that you're already on the part of recovery no matter what the problem may be especially if you needed it like in this case.  So after that very day I began to feel much better I began to feel much better.

Cloves

On the second day I took about three cloves after washing it I chewcd it in the morning in addition to the moringa seeds the clove oil and the clothes is to tackle bacteria that my intention was to Taco bacterias stubborn bacterial and yeast and to stop viral action of the if any bacteria was responsible actually because the headache doesn't just happen I've realised over the years that most headaches are linked connected from the gut so you when addressing headache , it is  the gut health that are usually the target once the gut health is resolved headache also most times was settle so I know there is a very serious link between our gut  and our brain so that is why I was also targeting it so if you suspect headache or just sudden headache like continuously it is better to check what you are eating or if there is any change in your diet because it can trigger a headache too because of this relationship which I have noticed over the years that there is a serious link between our gut and our brain so in this case to I took it to reduce the activity of bacteria or viruses and to reduce acidity most importantly because I said it is also a major problem when it comes to things like this and I have successfully used cloves before to ward off a headache.  I remembered it and I decided to also use it again so as  to reduce the acid in the body and it worked for me it worked as soon as I took it , I began to notice some improvements

Guava leaves tea

Guava leaves tea the next thing I decided to include was guava leaf tea, I went and got some fresh leaves around and boiled a little like five leaves, boil  and began to sip it and my reason for taking it is for hormonal purposes  and to reduce fat when we have health challenge or something is disturbing us we must also target the unhealthy fats those things like fats,   that is as a result of what you eat and  apart from the unhealthy fats it is also a source of iron and to balance hormone most important and as I began to take it,  I notice also some calmness because it's a mild sedative tea because of his naturally caffeine-free so when I began to take it, I began to feel the cameras to sleep and that was also the beginning of the healing I noticed that it began to calm me down and I noticed also that  my stomach began to move and if there was another reason why I also included the guava Leaf was that it helps control  diarrhoea.  Something that may look like a diarrhoea because when you actually experience  bowel movement like a a number of times,  if nothing is done there  is every likelihood that it will continue to a point that you may require medication to stop it and so it was what made me   to take a little of this tea sipping  it a little from time to time so as to kill the bacteria that could cause the diarrhoea  to get out of control and frankly speaking it also worked for me and I noticed it that when I began to take this  tea  I began to pass out gas gradually consistently showing that it was working so I did not go to the toilet for 2 days. f2 days was not much as it is indication  that healing was taking place because if it has continued the diarrhoea would have been something that will require medical attention so each  time we loose our balance internally it requires a lot of wisdom to restore it and if you need even to consult a more experienced health coach or Assistant, it  is a good idea if you noticed these things because sometimes we get confused, the fact that I did all these and it worked it may not mean that it will work exactly the same way it depends on the type of headaches and the cause.  Different types of headaches and varying causes so if you understand your own cause  and  the type, then you should be able to also take another dimension.  that are other foods  that I included to help me to Alkaline my body like green apple and cucumbers,  I also took one apple I have an apple and have cucumbers in the period and then I decided to slow down certain foods like nuts I stayed   way from roasted  African breadfruit,  cashews,  and all of that in order not to increase acidity in the body, foods like bananas too were avoided,  though   not a fan of it but it could trigger headache or  make it worse if you are trying to reduce the body  weight.  Another important tool to heal a headache is to  stay away from foods that are high in calories in order not to worsen your case

Moringa seeds

I already stated earlier about moringa seeds how  I started  by chewing moringa seeds just two seeds because it's quite sweet for me  but the reason was obvious it has no calorie and one of the things about headaches is avoiding or reducing calories.   if you are experiencing headache avoid high  calorie foods, it doesn't also like much spices too.   I have actually not had  headache for more than 13 years and so this one was a surprise to me but I thank God that He took control.

Reduce screen

The last thing I also did was to reduce my screen time because writing on the blog, editing checking the WhatsApp, a lot of Facebooks and all the social medias sometime puts a strain on my eyes which was the case this time around so I actually decided to reduce the screen time so once it's 8:30 pm or 8.20 I was done for the day so that the eyes could rest as much as possible and as I did that also I began to feel some calmness and relaxation in the head.   Too much screen time can also cause tension and may trigger a headache sometimes we tend to overdo it for various reasons maybe we want to meet peoples needs, want to convince ourselves that we are working or  just for the joy of just doing what we love to do so we should apply caution in all of these and may God grant us the grace to always do this.

Summary:

There could be many wonderful remedies for headaches out there but this is a real life story and what worked .

See My Latest Addition to Get More Omega 3 Fatty Acids and Why

Introduction

If you have been wondering which of the fishes  to include in your diet, then  consider omega-3 food sources because of the benefits of Omega-3 fatty acids in the body I have actually also been looking for healthy food that will provide me with Omega-3 fatty acids in addition to the existing ones then I suddenly found this fish which has been in existence for long but somehow I found it at last,  horse mackerel popularly called Kotr  in Nigeria is a common fish in our local market they seem to be more popular in the Eastern part of the country I recently I decided to buy this fish frozen version of this fish to make soup as I'm not always really a fan of it but when I saw the particular one that appealed  to my eyes I thought that this must be freshly caught and  I went for it then after making it with my vegetable soup, wow I consume this food and noticed something after listening to my body and that is the anti-inflammatory effect and I suddenly spoke aloud that this fish must be one of the fishes I have been looking for it seems it contains Omega-3 fatty acids. To further confirm my feelings I say okay I'm going to search for it and read as much as possible about this fish, and my guess was right  after doing that I thought, it  is important also to share my thought, my findings as in consuming this fish and what various writers also may have said or written.

Here are the top reasons why I will henceforth include this fish as one of my regular fishes to boost my health.   I finally discovered it,  a good source of Omega-3 fatty acids and protein, it  is a source of B12 and selenium and these are real nutrients in nature and if you are a health-conscious person who want to support heart health and numerous other benefits you may also consider switching occasionally to this particular fish horse mackerel the frozen  version is the one I used.   Here are  top reasons why it has entered my list.

1. Heart Health:

Horse mackerel or cote as we call it is highly anti-inflammatory and it is  a good support for those who are experiencing heart-related issues I will suggest women in their menopausal years to start consuming this  fish at least twice in a week because of this nutrient which I firstly noticed by listening to my body and secondly by reading what research has said about it. It  is a heart healthy fish, a source of nutrients like protein for building strong bones and others.  like selenium which also helps to   support heart and brain health too.

2. Bones:

Omega-3, selenium,  B12 protein and several other nutrients that support bone health is one of the reasons you should consider also including it  in your list.  I didn't really use to like it before now probably because it was not really taste so wonderfully like other fishes it has that kind of bland tastr  when you use it to cook unless those that fry and do other seasonings of course it's good to season it or else it doesn't really taste nice like some other fishes but it's loaded, it's not about the taste this time around, but about our health and wellness if you need something to support your bone especially as you are aging, this is one of the features that you should be adding regularly in your diet talking of fresh ones.  The best is  frozen one but in absence of it you can take smoked one but when they are smoked,  you  wouldn't know the condition of the fish before it it is smoked so that is why it is always better to go for fresh or frozen.

3. Protein:

Each day we must keep searching for protein because protein is the building block for building nuisance and repairing the ones that have been destroyed so what more will you be looking in the food it's all about protein it's more difficult to get protein sufficiently in the Diner diet than carbohydrates and sugar as this are available in almost all the food except protein so is a rich source of protein and we should also consider it to be able to fight ailments like diabetes to resist things like obesity this is one of the things protein does for us it keeps you Fuller for longer and they reduce the frequency of infections also

4. Brain Health

Omega 3  food sources such as found in this fish  is great for brain health because of this particular nutrient  and protein it may help prevent brain degeneration which happen in the elderly .

5. Thyroid Function

If you are searching for foods to support your thyroid Health , then   consider including this fish moderately in your diet because of the nutrients, it  is a dense fish which I have exper. ienced through my own body which usually speak to me when I consume certain foods, especially uncommon foods.  I believe many may have also been feeling well after consuming this fish without knowing why. Now you know.

summary

In addition to supporting thyroid health, it  is also a source of  support to our  the immune  support,  supporting  healthy digestion, reducing  constipation and several other benefits what more will you be looking for  in a food and relatively low in fat and Calorie this is one of the  most interesting aspect of this fish especially  when compared to other fishes.   Remember not to consume too much of it because of risk of mercury  as they are caught in our contaminated  rivers and oceans.   moderation is our rule but enjoy it modestly include it in your list as I have done and then enjoy a healthy body and strong immunity reducing risk of heart disease,  heart failure,  heart attack and other heart-related issues

Foods and Tips to Help you sleep{ Part 2}

 Effects of Insomnia May Include:

1.  Lower performance on the job or at school

2.  Slowed reaction time while driving and a higher risk of accidents

3. Mental health disorders, such as depression, an anxiety disorder or substance abuse

4. Increased risk and severity of long-term diseases or conditions, such as high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, diabetes and worsening cases of all cases affecting your health negatively.

Irritability, depression and anxiety, including panic attacks

Additionally. Sleep problems make it hard for our bodies to repair, detoxify, lose weight, balance blood sugar, and digest. Studies have also shown inadequate sleep lowers natural killer cells, which are the immune cells that fight cancer. One study suggests that our ability to fight viruses like the common cold decreases 300% when we get less than seven hours of sleep.

Lack of Sleep Ages Your Skin

Most people have experienced sallow skin and puffy eyes after a few nights of missed sleep. But it turns out that chronic sleep loss can lead to lackluster skin, fine lines, and dark circles under the eyes .

When you don’t get enough sleep, your body releases more of the stress hormone cortisol. In excess amounts, cortisol can break down skin
collagen , the protein that keeps skin smooth and elastic.

Natural foods that helps you sleep:

Grains,
rice,
barley,
oats)
Nuts and Seeds (walnuts, peanuts,  almonds, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, mustard seeds, flaxseed)
Fatty fish
Eggs
Turkey
Chicken
Milk and other dairy including yoghurt
Honey
Cayenne pepper
Bell pepper

Millet
Soya
lemon grass tea
Kudin Tea
Avocadoes
Cold pressed coconut oil
Cold pressed olive oil

Fruits and vegetables includes: cherries, corn, asparagus, pomegranate, olives,  cgrapes, broccoli, cucumber, watermelon) Guava leaves tea

A Handful of Nuts.

Nuts are a good source of heart-healthy fats. And almonds and walnuts, specifically, contain melatonin, a hormone that helps to regulate your sleep/wake cycle. Eating them can increase your blood levels of the hormone, helping you sleep more soundly.

Vitamins and Nutrients that Helps you sleep

Vitamins and Nutrients Needed to help you sleep soundly:

There are four main vitamins and minerals that can be found in food that aid in promoting sleep:

1.Tryptophan
2 Magnesium
3.Calcium, and
4.B6. Some of these substances help the body produce melatonin, the hormone that is responsible for regulating your circadian rhythm (sleep/wake patterns). When you're close to bedtime, melatonin production naturally increases to help you sleep. In the morning when you're ready to wake up, melatonin production tapers off to allow you to be awake and alert for the day.

Some foods are naturally packed with these essential vitamins and minerals, and eating certain foods at certain times can help you tip the scales towards a successful night of quality sleep. Most of these are available as over-the-counter supplements, but like with most supplements, it's better to get them from the foods you eat than relying on supplement.

Limit activities in bed.

Do not eat or drink right before going to bed
Make your sleeping environment comfortable
Do not go to bed hungry or too full at least 3 hours apart from your last meal

Include some healthy  fats or carbs in moderation if you avoid them too much.  Insomnia may show up

Reduce spices especially at night.

Put off lights in your sleeping room when you want to sleep

Keep your beddings as clean as possible

Meditate on the word of God if you are a Christian or any meditation that suits you.

Moringa leaves whether fresh or dried is one of my best remedies for sustained sleep.  But it should not be taken regularly because the nutrient density is too much.  It is a blood thickener and could raise blood pressure if too much.

Use Moringa in soups and stews as vegetable.  Just a handful.  Wash a little with salt and pound into a paste.  Do not allow much heat just like other green vegetables.  You can also take the dried one as tea.  The dried one is higher is calcium and some other nutrients.  Just half a teaspoon in boiled water in a cup.  Add honey and milk for a rich nourishing drink.
Diabetics and prediabetics should not add honey milk to help them sleep. There are other options for them.

In summary, it is important we always maintain a stable emotion to enable you triumph over insomnia.

Top Foods and Tips to Help You Sleep( part 1)

 Introduction:

When we cannot sleep at night and during the day then our immune  system is down we cannot afford to underrate the role of sleeping or a good night's sleep to our entire well-being and wellness I have suffered several times the problem of inability to sleep and the prolonged form of it which is insomnia and tried also  many things that worked and others that also didn't work and when we cannot sleep at night several factors may be responsible it's important to find out what exactly is the cause of our inability to sleep most times it is due to lack of some essential nutrients or some other causes.   I will be sharing here  in this very post some of the things that may be responsible for your not being able to sleep at night or not staying alseep

Most likely Causes

 Stimulants that can disrupt sleep.
 gastroesophageal
Sleep-related disorders. Sleep apnea interrupting,
Caffeine, nicotine and alcohol. Coffee, tea, cola and other caffeinated drinks are stimulants. Drinking them in the late afternoon or evening can keep you from falling asleep at night. Nicotine in tobacco products is another stimulant that can interfere with sleep. Alcohol may help you fall asleep, but it prevents deeper stages of sleep and often causes awakening in the middle of the night.

Eating oily /fatty foodslate, gas forming foods like beans late can interfere with sleep and if it is done regularly, becomes a cause of insomnia.

Lack of physical  exercise or too much exercise towards bedtime can disrupt sleep.  Exercise are best in the morning.  Strainous exercise toward evenings causes adrenal fatigue.

Not taking a break during the day especially during periods of intense physical stress can lead to loss of sleep at night.

Not taking good breakfast can lead to loss of sleep at night.  Do not joke with breakfast. Too much is bad, no breakfast is bad. The brain cells prepares it for sleep in the morning is also absorbed well.

Not getting enough Calcium:  Calcium is an important electrolyte and should be taken daily.  Both men and women need it but deficiency is common amongst women probably due to other factors like hormones.

Spices Rich in Calcium

Fresh and dried basil. ...
Dried savory. ...
Dried marjoram, thyme, sage, rosemary, Celery seed & other spices including black pepper seeds.
Cinnamon.
Stinging nettle.

What Is Vitamin B6?

Vitamin B6 is a water-soluble vitamin, meaning that the body doesn’t store it in large amounts. Any excess that the body doesn’t need is excreted in the urine. That’s why it is of great importance to consume foods rich in this nutrient every day. The term vitamin B6 actually covers six different compounds. The body converts them into the active forms of this vitamin – pyridoxal phosphate, which play vital roles in our body

Vitamin B6 Benefits

This vitamin takes part in over 100 enzyme reactions, which are mostly related to protein metabolism. It also plays an important role in other metabolic processes involving amino acids, carbohydrates, and lipids.
Furthermore, vitamin B6 is involved in the production of hemoglobin, a protein which transports oxygen to our cells. If hemoglobin levels are low, our cells don’t get enough oxygen, and we are at risk of developing anemia. Vitamin B6 can be used for preventing and treating this blood disorder.

Another major function of this vitamin is to promote the production of neurotransmitters in the brain. Therefore, it is vital for healthy brain development. In addition to carrying signals from one neuron (nerve cell) to another, neurotransmitters contribute to the production of hormones influencing our mood and sleep cycle.

Food Sources of B6

Green, leafy vegetables, pumpkin seeds, edamame, bananas, avocados, beans, and nuts and seeds are all foods rich in magnesium, which helps muscles relax and induces a sleepy state.

Eat Magnesium-Rich Foods

The mineral magnesium is a natural sedative. Deficiency of magnesium can result in difficulty sleeping, constipation, muscle tremors or cramps, anxiety, irritability, and pain. Other foods rich in magnesium includes legumes and seeds, dark leafy green vegetables, wheat bran, almonds, cashews, whole grains.

Food sources of Magnesium

They include:

Dark Chocolate.
Avocados. The avocado is an incredibly nutritious fruit and a tasty source of magnesium
Nuts. Nuts are nutritious and tast
Legumes. Legumes are a family of nutrient-dense plants that include lentils, beans, chickpeas, peas and soybeans.
Seeds
Whole Grains.
Some Fatty Fish.

Best Natural Remedies for Cough

Coughing affects all people from all regions, it affects both children, young people and the elderly.  Though some cough could be minor clearing with simple remedies while others requires hospitalizations and proper laboratory investigation.  If any cough stays more than 3 weeks after trying several simple home remedies, then that cough should be investigated to know the underlying cause.  It is however better to try  natural home remedies first before resorting to hospital.  Here are some natural foods with positive effect on cough:

1.  Honey and lemon.  This combo are known for their  long time positive effect on cough while honey helps to sooth the throat and provide some nutrients, lemon helps reduce mucus and destroy some bacteria and yeast feeding the cough. It is  easy and simple too. Just boil water,  cut a fresh lemon into two,  it is better not to remove the peels, before now we were using only the juice, but today, we know the peels contain important oils and nutrients that fights disease too.  Brew the lemon with peels add a teaspoon of honey and drink slowly.

2.  Ginger: Fresh ginger is also a long term remedy for cough.  It is always better to use fresh ginger.  Add a little honey or just make tea with it, you can also add a few pieces of fresh tumeric for stronger effect.

3.  Onions:  Fresh onions is a versatile home remedy for most ailments, you can chew it or make tea with it. It contains properties that calms cough and strengthen the immune system too.

4.  Garlic and honey:  Garlic with its strong antibacterial and antiviral properties works best for long standing cough.  Whenever ginger fails, garlic hardly fails.  It is best to take it raw or mix with a little honey and taken on empty stomach.

5.  Steam Inhalation:  This  is also very effective for cough especially if mint oil or other essential oils of your choice like eucalyptus oil is used with the steam.  It warms the entire body, killing bacterias and calming cough too.

6.  Lots of fluid:   If plenty of fluid is included with the exclusion of caffeine, it will help hydrate the body and shorten the duration of the cough.

7.  Cayenne pepper:  This is a circulatory food which helps open up arteries and kills bacterial and that makes cough worse. It can also be taken as tea or just used in cooking.

8.  Cloves:  Cloves contain compounds which not only kills bacterial and stops them from going viral but it kills pain too caused by  frequent Coughing.

9.  Almonds:  During periods of coughing, it is good to avoid peanuts due to its inflammatory effect which can worsen the cough, but the good news is that almond can provide the needed nutrients especially, the antioxidant vitamin E without causing inflammation especially if taken in moderation.

10.  Carrots:  During severe and prolonged Coughing, young fresh carrot could be blended and cooked with a little honey added, this is particularly useful for young children who may be malnourished due to the Coughing and inability to eat.

11.  Milk and honey:  This combo are soothing foods with plenty nutrients to help boost and support the immune system.

Other beneficial foods are grapes, bananas, guava leaf tea and resting the throat. This can be achieved by talking less and resting too. All foods should be warm and the entire body kept warm during cold weather.

In summary:  it is important to know what exactly caused the cough and stop it. Sometimes too much fibre or gluten from grains.  During seasonal foods like corn, better be careful as these are inflammatory foods and strong triggers to cough.  Prevention is always better than cure.

Kudin Tea To The Rescue

As soon as I concluded from my inner instinct that I needed bitters to help support my liver.   I went for Kudin tea which I had left out of my diet for several months.  Although there are other bitters like neem tea, bitter leaf. Bitter cola, abere seeds and others, but all the bitters are not the same, Each one is unique.

It was about 2am and I went ahead to boil water and prepared my kudin tea.

I sipped like  three to four sips  from the cup and laid  down again before I knew it, I was off to sleep until the morning my people there is no too much saying about it I'm not marketing Kudin tea, but it was the herbal tea that rescue that ugly situation at midnight.

The truth is that this particular tea came to the rescue that night whether it was high cholesterol, malaria or typhoid,  stress whether it was to excess sugar whatever it was indigestion it was able to tackle it  brought the situation under control.

It is important for us to know some of this happiness it will help us also in case we have such experiences and we have tried our medications at times or whatever remedies we knew and it didn't work it may be time to also listen to what your body is saying this tea has other benefits.  Watch the video.

Summary

Remember to take moderately, too much of everything is bad.  Too much bitters is okay.  You may take in the morning after water therapy especially if you suspect bacteria infections or high blood sugar, for insomnia, take it after dinner, for other benefits. You can take it midday too, but I do not suggest more than two cups in a day.

All my Home Remedies failed but This tea worked

Introduction

It is important to continue to update us from time to time as some of these benefits are discovered and helping in some critical  situations I have often talked about the importance of bitter foods in our diet and there are several of these bitter Foods around and also the need to always have them at home because there may be times such as this one when all other remedies may fail, So it was on this very occasion that I tried all of  them that night and all failed but Kudin tea,  popular Chinese herbal tea came to the rescue.  Read on as I share my experience and you may also benefit from it.

The Days Before

It had been a hectic week for me with a lot of jobs both online and offline and as I have often told us when we are under stress the body's ability to manage sugar is completely reduced to almost zero at times.   It is a time that we should avoid all carbohydrates and sugary foods until we come out of the situation that is the truth we have always known and I  had always too.  So on this very occasion  it was a very hectic period and my body was under stress, I mean  serious stress of course we know that, there  is a lot of stress even in the environment  these days, both physical mental emotional and all of that so I had deliberately avoided all carbohydrates and consumed black eyed cowpea with some vegetables in the midday and then a few fruits fruits towards evening and so this very night I said okay,  let me have oats with some dates and Cocoa as a bitter something to add to it and for magnesium too. to join it which though  has a mild caffeine so I prepared and had the meal with my spouse although, I tried finishing it as it swelled more than my expected, honestly, oatscis high in carbs,  I ensured to finish the little leftover to avoid wastage, we should all also beware of this passion to avoid waste, it has landad many in trouble, let it waste instead of wasting us.   It ought to be just one or two spoons but it was a bit more than that so this is also  an aspect we must all guard against too,  the portion, there are times when our body needs just rest and not food too, why are we so eager to have something.   After that I went to rest for a  few minutes and off to bed.

The truth however is that the day before this incident I had not had a smooth night 2 or 3 days before so it was also a sort of carry over  of stress which occasionally happens  to many of us arising from a lot of other factors night programs, parties,  praying vigils,  blogging, attending  issues, unexpected issues like long  phone  calls which when they are not respected and  lasts for like 45 minutes or more than that t may come at a time you are  already under stress so that will add to the stress and that was also the experience on this occasion,  I had a lot of calls and some of them were very long calls and some of them came at an expected time so that also  added  up for the  already existing stress this is also an experience I have noted that if we are in the position of attending to people or members,  receiving calls etc,  it is better to always put our phones on lowest volume or better still on silence,  don't forget this I've also learnt from it put it on silent so that you can return some of the important calls  when you are done with your hectic time.

It looked like a Heart Attack

Many including me, have been hearing of heart attack,  and cardiac arrest,  heart failure and other heart related issues, it seems to me to be more prevalent amongst women especially menopausal women.   It  is better not to experience it because sometimes it doesn't give any warning and sometimes it does and so it happened  that after consuming my own oats and other added stuff and all the recipes I already stated above,  less than 2  hours I went t to relax after taking fennel tea with a little ginger to aid the digestion.  Off I went to bed about one hr later, sleep was alread heavy on my eyes and my entire body and it came pushing my heart and ibfact ceased it, I battled to get it back. After that episode, I prepared mystletoe tea and took about half cup of the warm tea and went back to sleep.   These are sone of the teas I take when I need a little push to fall asleep, but this time, it failed also as effort to take off to sleep ended  with another voilent epolisode of of cough while struggling to recover my heart, Could this be what they call Heart Attack🤔😫 .  Anyway, I decided to take water (room temperature) but it failed also, infact it was like adding salt to injury.

I began to try My Remedies that all failed.

taking my water well worth taking taking water and sleep tried to come and this thing keep pushing on my heart with force and cough very difficult Cup that first one was arrested and it stopped second time I went to bed again it came again the second time with a false on my heart I jumped up and try to recover myself and this it was so worked there after I was too tired to go to look for one water ice okay let me check cold water I'm in room temperature water around me so I went ahead and drank it low and behold it was like adding salt to injury I went back and then after.

Then I continued trying all remedies that hitherto worked for me on high stress levels such as this.   Already tried fennel tea, it failed,  tried mistletoe teac, it failed too.  Tried water, it got worse,  so I began to wonder what exactly was the problem after sometime I lay down again and decided to listen to my body as I have always taught us actually, I usually do it during crisis too, May God help us all to be able to decode what the body needs each time.

It was time to Listen to My Body

So when I laid down I said this time around, I was  not going to sleep least it happens a again, interestingly, I have not suffered cough for over 12 years nor taken cough syrup, I concluded it was time to listen to my body least it happens again and take my enemies life.   but this time around as I lay down and began to listen to what was going on inside my stomach I  discovered that my liver  was actually under serious attack the reason was actually not known to me but I suspect stress because liver hate stress as I always tell us that one of our livers  worst enemies is stress.   So maybe  due to the stress, the liver was almost totally down and because of the stress again the food was just there trying  circulating and nothing was happening and it began to shoot at the heart in form of inflammation.  That was the climax of it.

Here is One of my Most Cherished Spices and Why (Part 2)

Continue from Part 1

 Viral Infections:

Talking of reducing viral Infections, Simply referring to   infections that can easily spread to the other parts of the body can easily go viral as the word implies so when you suspect something that is either in the community or inside of your body and it's a viral infection then I think this is the  time to begin to make this spice your  friend because it helps to reduce the activity of viral infections to affecting or spreading in a speedy way to other parts of the body.   It works as  an immune booster to strengthen your immune system and reduce overall viral load in the body making you to be strong and able to reduce infections.  This is one of the reasons why I particularly like  this spice because not all spices work this way.    So if you suffer infections frequently or there is a viral infection around your area or your community you may decide to begin to prepare it  as tea or as  a tincture or just chewing  the  spice once in a while you will discover a stronger immune system to be able to resist infections and then reduce inflammations which are usually the major causes or one of the things that opens door for other infections to come in.

Fights off cold and ward off fever

It is also great in warding off cold symptoms and improving blood circulation this spice  helps if you suspect fever symptoms and or coldness.   You can prepare as tea and consume it in addition to this, it also help to improve sleep whenever I chew the Spice I often  notice a calmness that, tends to cause me to fall asleep especially if chewed when you actually need it when you don't need this spice like if you have taken something that thins the blood or your blood sugar is low and you happen to take this spice you definitely won't like the feeling, and it may give you a wrong or bad impression concerning cloves if taken at the right time the right amount you definitely would like to come back and agree that, this is a Spice that you love to keep around you.

As an Expectorant Or Decongestant

If you suspect excess mucus because I know the cause of disease and immune system is linked to excess mucus.    So if you suspect excess mucus sin your system this Spice also acts  as an expectorant or a decongestant it clears mucus and reduce the heat internally, especially the bad mucus, because the body produces mucus also but excess mucus are the ones that helps to bring us down especially from the acidic foods we consume daily. So when you suspect there is kind of  congestion around your chest or nose you can chew a few of these cloves to help to decongest the chest and then to reduce the main course that if not reduced may end up causing other symptoms like  coughing and in that way it strengthens the immune system by reducing excess mucus production and breaking down existing  mucus.

Improve Complexion

If I notice my complexion turning  darker, it may be that the yeast activities is much or for some other reasons unknown to us if you begin to chew this tiny spice moderately on a daily basis we will soon notice an improvement in your complexion because of the reduction of the activities of the bad bacterias some of them are contributors to this dominance in the complexion and sometimes may be due to excess sugar too and various other factors but this Spice also helps to reduce their activity at all levels and improve the general complexion and look of the skin and in addition to that it also strengthens bones this is one area I  noticed too and I know that there are only few   spices that are also good in bone strengthening and anything that strengthens bones I  always embrace it and that is one of the main reason this spice is one of my favorite spices as of today.  Though I do not have it as a  daily Spice but it's a regular spice that I keep by my side.

Respiratory Support:

If you are experiencing respiratory problems, this spice will also provide support when taken in moderation

Summary:

Clove is a powerful blood thinner, though blood thinners are good additions to our diet especially diabetics, prediabetics and those with high blood pressure, however this spice does not work for lowering high blood pressure,  those who experience low blood pressure can consume it moderately as it acts as an expectorant and tends to raise blood pressure, it will therefore benefit people with low blood pressure if taken moderately, however it is my view that those with high blood pressure could consume less amount infrequently in order not to loose out completely on the numerous health benefits.

The Spice could be taken as tea, syrup, spray or just chewed before or after meals, to enjoy these benefits.  There are ground versions  as powder or you can grind grind the dried buds yourself and this is better, so you can be sure that it is only cloves because the days are evil, they can mix and grind with other goods and present as cloves powder for profitability.  I always prefer the dried buds as it does not spoil easily and always retains its strong favour.

Here is One of my Most Cherished Spice and Why

Introduction

Clove is a popular Spice we all know and use in our kitchen but many of us are not very much familiar with its numerous benefits, cove is one of the spices I avoided several years back because I felt it was too hot and may not be friendly with ulcer survivors but over the years I have come to realize that this tiny spice is much more than I thought and it is  One Spice I have begun to cherish more than most spices though it is very tiny but still wondering why tiny things are very loaded and  seems more powerful.   Cloves is one of such spices I have begun to love so much lately but it is also a spice I will advise new users to be cautious with cloves  is not a Spice for beginners or a Spice someone can just take because of its powerful  effect and high content of Eugenol which is the   active ingredients in this spice.

Here are some of the most important benefits I derive by using this spice and by taking it and also how I am  using the Spice:

To ward off Headaches

As we are all aware there are different types of headaches but whichever type, there are always remedies that can help to alleviate headaches I do not think or suggest that every minor headache should be rushed to the hospital or medications should begin to be the first solution it is okay and important to always sick remedies home remedies and see if they are able to work and in most cases a simple taking or drinking of water sometimes resolves some headaches and most health issues,  but I have also come across some type of headaches that could not be resolved by just drinking water until when clove was consumed.   I consumed clove about  three cloves in the morning and I think that headache was as a result of  acidity in the body and it was able to resolve it immediately so in this regard you can try it if you have such minor  sign of headache you may try it, it worked for me but you must be careful not to take too much because it's a very strong spice.

Regulating Blood Sugar

If you are pre-diabetic or you are a diabetic or even none of these, but you are over 45 years or you are in your  50s , it is important to also always have cloves  at home because cloves regulates blood sugar in a way that can help to prevent the onset of diabetes Close also helps with insulin and a lot of other things that makes or brings about complications of diabetes.  I have used cloves several times and later checked my sugar and noticed there was a drop in my sugar and that in this way, I came to the conclusion regarding  its effect on blood sugar.   it is important for you to know that when using herbs like this or spices like this you should not be on blood sugar regulated medication or else you may suffer excess drop in your sugar because it has ability to reduce blood sugar significantly and it is this very aspect that also make me cherish the spice and how do you use it you can take this Spice after each meal major meal  containing carbohydrates. sugar ,proteins and other nutrients and fats,  take two  or three cloves depending on your weight on your need also  maximum I like to chew  after each meal helps  to moderate sugar and ensure  that there is no spike in in my sugar as a result of the meal and also once in a while if I suspect a rise in my  sugar levelduring the night then I start my day in the morning after water therapy by consuming two or three cloves on an empty stomach but also always ensure that there is food available because of its other effects on  intestine by making it produce digestive juice.

Digestive Aid

Another reason why I will recommend cloves to  older adults is this aspect of aiding digestion one of the areas that mature and older adults have issues is in the aspect of metabolism because of low digestive juice from the stomach and in that sense it is important to include foods that acts as digestive aids like cloves in moderation chewing taking it as tea is a great way to aid digestion and I have also noticed that when it is chewed or taken as tea,  it also has a way of reducing chronic constipation and this is as a result of its digestive aid ability so if you suffer digestive issues such as gas or you need foods to help digest your food fast it is important to include this tiny spice in your meal or you can chew it.  I rather always prefer to chew it raw because of the importance of raw foods  in the diet it could lose some of its nutrients if cooked extensively like all the other foods and for this reason I like to chew it ,just wash it and then chew it like that.

Bacterias and Parasites

If you  suffer frequent bacteria and parasites attack which is usually the case with older people then ensure to have cloves at home and include it in your diet or take it from time to time in order to reduce attacks of bacteria and intestinal parasites, viruses,  microbes that usually attack our intestine all the time I do also take it for this purpose to reduce frequency of this bugs attacking it is also the same way it's also the same way I take it for this purpose  but this time, it is best always on empty stomach even after taking other things like garlic I still go ahead and take the cloves along with it because I discovered that it doesn't stop the work of garlic they do not interact with each other and it ha  own nutrients and agents makes it unique whereas garlic is a source of powerful agents like  sulphur and allicin cloves stands out with Eugenol,  which is also not found in garlic so it is not okay to focus on garlic or ginger and believe that it can do all of the job for you.   yes we have declared that garlic is a very powerful spice too, but there are millions of bacterias and parasites that we are contending with daily in our body  and here is another Spice that we also need to include moderately in order to tackle millions of these bacterias that are living inside of us.  One singular Spice cannot destroy them all, there are millions and trillions of them as research has revealed to us .  Some are healthy gut bacterias supporting our gut health and digestion and others  are deadly and dangerous and these  dangerous ones you need spices like cloves  to tackle by including them moderately in order to tackle some other bacteris and parasites that could not be reached by consuming  garlic alone.

Helps Reduce Yeasts and Candida

When there there is an overgrowth of yeast and candida  in your body, candida grows as a result of starchy foods,  sugars and all the processed stuff we include and consumed daily in our diet when their number increases and outnumbers the healthy gut bacteria as they become very troublesome and that is when foods or spices like cloveses should be introduced into the diet when they get  out of  control they cause  a lot of problems  and destroy our immune system our body's ability to fight or resist disease is reduced and will become a victim to every infection and disease including inflammations it is for this reason also,  it is important to always take cloves  in your diet as stated already in my earlier  posts how I do use it but not everyday it  is not an everyday Spice for me why because it is a powerful blood thinner and could cause other side effects  if consumed in excess or frequently reducing the activity reducing used activity is something we must consider seriously especially by older adults so as to also support our immune system this is one powerful yeasts fighting food we should not neglect for whatever reason especially those who are battling or managing high blood pressure needs also  be careful with this Spice because of its  ability also to work against their goal that is of having normal oblood pressure but I still suggest that it  should not be left out of the diet completely because of the numerous health benefits but in moderation could be included so as to get some of the benefits without necessarily affecting the blood pressure negatively as may be the case.

For Better Oral Health and Reducing Toothaches and Gum Disease

Our oral health is so important to immune system as earlier noted in some of my posts iora health who's most of the bacteria's that attack us especially when we are sick they leave right inside our mouth and begin to travel from there and that is why Close should be part of our oral health protection Spice because it kills most of the bacteria in the mouth including those that cause bad breath including those that cause toothache including those are contribute to gum disease and having suffered from some of these issues before like toothpaste it is important for me to raise a Spice like this because if I had embraced it before now maybe some of those complications arising from the tooth aches may have been invited so if you love your teeth if you want to have a fresh breath and you want to avoid toothpaste then include this price regularly and modestly as I often do.

  Against Sore throat

Sore throat is something that can be prevented as much as I know and the way to prevent it is by attacking the bugs,  the bacteria's that travel from the mouth region because they pass through the throat and some of them find host around the throat and before you wake up the sore throat is there.  Most sorethroat actually show the first symptom as we wake up from sleep in the mornings,  showing or  confirming that these works were actually carried out while we are sleeping and so it is important to take good care of our oral health again especially in the morning because of some of the bugs activity at night while we are asleep.

Sexual Activity Support or as Aphrodisiac

If you are a menopausal women,  or man having issues with sexual activity, then you should also embrace this Spice because of its effect which I have also observed and noticed most women that are entering their menopause experience dryness and lack of interest in having any sexual activity but there are just few spices that does this job and it can help restore   families and many are also concerned with and here is one Spice you should start taking  occasionally and you will notice how strong you will be sexually.   I do not know the nutrients that this. this but what I do know is that if you try including the Spice or chewing it occasionally you will notice a more energetic feeling inside of you when it comes to sexual activity and this is what most people will love and I think this is a cheering  news for those of us who are aging and who are already losing interest in any sexual activity, it can also help to rest of some Bonds in  homes which are caused by imbalance in  this aspect of relationship. Most of these harmful, staying around the truth some of these viruses that could be staying around the throat  in order to travel to prevent them from moving into other parts of the body. In the presence of cloves of the introduction of Clove occasionally in the diet can help to stop them from doing  further havoc.

20. Foods and habits to avoid if you have suffered typhoid and wants to remain free.

What is Malaria,  it is simply a disease caused by a plasmodium parasite transmitted by the bite of infected mosquitoes.

What of typhoid?
It is a bacteria disease spread through contaminated food, water or close contact

The symptoms of the two diseases are the same, fever, headache, abdominal pain, weakness, loss of appetite etc.

Whatever name we call it,   whether Malaria or typhoid, they are both referred to as DIS-EASE

We shall be concerned more in this seminar about the word Disease and how to avoid it.

What then is disease?

According to merrianwebster website "It is a condition of the living animal or plant body or of one of its parts that impairs normal functioning and is typically manifested by distinguishing signs and symptoms"

A little About disease:

In my own view, there is no bacteria or germ called disease. It is the organs that are no longer at ease. then they  stop working. They give signals and symptoms in the form of cold. fever, weakness, loss of appetite, etc. You must listen to your body.  Those symptoms can never be wrong.

Here are some of the things that could make the organs stop Work:

Deficiency of Nutrients
Excess of one nutrients over another
Toxicity - Too much toxins in the body
Acidity - Too much acidic foods

Stress both physical, mental or emotional, financial etc.

Understanding How Our Body Works:

Our body works by taking in the food with its nutrients. By ingestion, digest, or metabolise and absorption of the nutrients causes growth and other positive effects in and outside the body. These functions are carried out by key organs in the body majorly stomach consisting of intestine, liver, kidney. Brain, Bladder pancreas. These key organs must function optimally and we must be aware of them.

These are what they need to function :
Proper nutrition as already discussed
Oxygen
Exercise
Water
Stable emotional
If these are lacking or one is in excess, the cells will notify us through symptoms relayed to us by the brain if we listen to the symptoms as relayed by the brain and make correction, the cell will continue working, and as long as all the cells and organs are working., we will never be sick. If we fail to listen, after some time, they stop working, then we say we are sick.
If they are deficient in one or two of the needs, they signal us too, if supply comes, they start working and there you go, but if they cry and you fail to heed, then they stop, No wonder the Bible says, "My people are destroyed for lack of Knowledge."
Your body is made up of cells, tissues, organs then systems.  When you start having signs or symptoms of sickness, it originated from your cells, if not checked, moves to your tissues, then to your system.  What your cells feed on?  Nutrients and vitamins usually from fruits, vegetables and whole grains.
Fruits and vegetables contains antioxidants that fights free radicals in your cells. Whole grains contains lipids and steroids which helps to clean the cells and makes them function well.  So what happens when all you eat is junk and foods that have been striped of their nutrients, you are just starving your cells, though you may feel full and say you have been eating, whereas, the cells are hungry and dying gradually.  The end product is...... You give me the answer

Disease, if it is not typhoid, its Malaria and there you go for antibiotics

Antibiotics kill the good and the bad, leaving you worse than they met you.

The much I know is that there is only one disease I call it "CELL MALFUNCTION". And I know only two causes of disease.  They are:

1.  Deficiency and
2.  Toxicity

Be mindful of these two and you will never be sick again.

When our cells fails to function due to deficiency of nutrients and other materials and
nutrients, these Deficiency manifest in form of symptoms e.g, cold, pains, loss of appetite, weakness, headache, fever etc.  If you understand how your body functions, you will know what to do.

If your cells fails to function due to too much toxins,  this also will manifest in form of symptoms, e. g. Diarrhoea, Constipation, loss of appetite, weakness, fever, cold. etc.  There you go again to the hospital, if it's not Malaria, its typhoid.  The painful aspect of these whole thing is that if the symptoms were caused by toxicity.  You take drugs, meaning more toxins.  The liver and kidney which are the organs  responsible for expelling toxins will have more work to do because more toxins have come in as a result of the drugs taken.  Oh What ignorance!! No wonder after each dose of treatment few days or weeks later, we start experiencing symptoms again.  You are only suffering from the toxins brought in by the pharmaceutical drugs, most times, you go back to doctor who is equally ignorant and he gives you more drugs,

6.   7 Dimensions of Wellness

There are 7 main dimensions  of wellness for you to stay healthy and be able to resist and fight diseases including malaria and Typhoid.

These are:

1.  Physical wellness
2.  Emotional wellness
3.  Social wellness
4.  Spiritual wellness
5.  Occupational wellness
6.  Intellectual wellness
7.  Environmental wellness

7.  Funny but True

In years back, when Malaria and Typhoid were a treat to me, thought I was finally going to die of the disease, so each time I hear that somebody died of typhoid, I became more afraid, IN fact, I feared typhoid more than Malaria as they said, it was capable of perforating the intestine, that was my major dread, but almost 9yrs till today I have never treated typhoid again, why because God's grace gave me the secret and that is why, I should share it.  It all depends on your immune system, once your immune is strong and healthy, if you consume foods high in antioxidants to help it neutralize free radicals.

What are free radicals?

Free radicals are the natural byproducts of chemical processes, such as metabolism. Dr. Lauri Wright, a registered dietitian and an assistant professor of nutrition at the University of South Florida, said, "Basically, I think of free radicals as waste products from various chemical reactions in the cell that when built up, harm the cells of the body."

We will focus more on our immune system,  understand it and take care of it and you will be free from Malaria and Typhoid fever.  Once your immune system are always strong and defending you.  You can never be sick.  God has made everything perfect, if you eat the right food, these internal defense system installed by our maker will continue to defend you against Malaria and typhoid

In my days of ignorance, I suffered and treated  typhoid and Malaria so frequently,  In fact Doctors, nurses and laboratories made merchandise of me. Oh what ignorance, how I wish somebody told me the truth about disease, the truth about Malaria and Typhoid.  Do not be deceived, no combo, drug or mixture is more potent to secure and keep you healthy like your immune system.  It is  immune you must regularly ensure they are strong, so as to stay free from Malaria and Typhoid fever. What then is immune system?

8.  The Main organs of the immune system

The immune system,  is made up of special cells, proteins, tissues, and organs, these defend people against germs and microorganisms every day, 2-4-7.  Our bodies have enemies, which we are unable to see and may not even be aware they exist. Without a healthy immune system, people constantly would be sick.

Overall, the immune system is comprised of various parts that serve various functions, from recognizing and acting against the invaders, or antigens, to working throughout the body to prevent infection, and finally to remembering antigens from previous attacks in order to put up an even stronger fight in future instances.

Proper maintenance for a good immune system.
Many natural cellular processes in our bodies create waste, these wastes  form free radicals. If these highly reactive substances aren’t neutralized, they can cause damage in our bodies which can lead to inflammation, an inflammation is similar to swelling most times with pains. A consistently high state of inflammation is considered to be a precursor to many common conditions in older adults, such as cardiovascular disease and various types of cancer.
The good news is that our bodies create antioxidants to balance this damage out! Antioxidants bind to free radicals and suppress their damage. However, since we are exposed to additional free radicals from pollution, cigarette smoke, pesticides, radiation, and some processed foods, we need to also take in additional antioxidants to neutralize the free radicals.
Add More Antioxidants
Antioxidants are found in many plant foods.

 Here are a few:

Vitamin C is found in citrus, kiwi, strawberries, bell peppers and broccoli.
Vitamin E is contained in almonds, avocados and olive oil.
Beta-carotene creates vitamin A, important for vision and bone health. Good sources are carrots, sweet potatoes, kale, chard and papayas.
Lycopene is found in red fruits and vegetables like tomatoes, papaya and watermelon.
Lutein and zeaxanthin are found in dark green leafy veggies like spinach, kale, collard greens and broccoli and may help slow the progress of age-related macular degeneration in the eyes.
Anthocyanins are found in blue and purple foods like blueberries, raspberries, plums, pomegranates, eggplant, and red cabbage.

The main organs of the immune system are:

The bone marrow
Thymus
Speen
Lymph

Bone marrow is the spongy tissue inside some of your bones, such as your hip and thigh bones. It contains stem cells. The stem cells can develop into the red blood cells that carry oxygen through your body, the white blood cells that fight infections, and the platelets that help with blood clotting.

Thymus gland

The thymus gland is located in the neck above the heart. The function of the thymus gland is to generate mature T lymphocytes (white blood cels that help the immune system fight off illness).
The Spleen

The spleen plays multiple supporting roles in the body. It acts as a filter for blood as part of the immune system. Old red blood cells are recycled in the spleen, and platelets and white blood cells are stored there. The spleen also helps fight certain kinds of bacteria that cause pneumonia and meningitis.
Your spleen's main function is to act as a filter for your blood. It recognizes and removes old, malformed, or damaged red blood cells. When blood flows into your spleen, your spleen performs "quality control"; your red blood cells must pass through a maze of narrow passages.

The Lymph

The lymphatic system is a network of tissues and organs that help rid the body of toxins, waste and other unwanted materials. The primary function of the lymphatic system is to transport lymph, a fluid containing infection-fighting white blood cells, throughout the body.
What is the difference between lymph and blood?

Blood is pumped throughout the body by the heart, but the lymph is moved along through the normal function of the body. ... Blood contains red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Lymph is a whitish and clear liquid.

9.  More About Malaria

Mode of transmission

Infected mosquito. A mosquito becomes infected by feeding on a person who has malaria.

Transmission of parasite.

If this mosquito bites you in the future, it can transmit malaria parasites to you.
In the liver. Once the parasites enter your body, they travel to your

liver — where some types can lie dormant for as long as a year.
Into the bloodstream. When the parasites mature, they leave the liver and infect your red
blood cells. This is when people typically develop malaria symptoms.
On to the next person. If an uninfected mosquito bites you at this point in the cycle, it will become infected with your malaria parasites and can spread them to the other people it bites.

Which organs are affected by malaria?

During the initial stages, the parasite affects the red blood cells only, but as the disease progresses, it starts to affect the liver and the spleen. In extreme cases, it can affect the brain and cause cerebral malaria.

An attack usually starts with shivering and chills, followed by a high fever, followed by sweating and a return to normal temperature. Malaria signs and symptoms typically begin within a few weeks after being bitten by an infected mosquito.
Types of Malaria

10.  Types of Malaria

Based on the severity of the infection, there are two types of malaria – uncomplicated and severe (or complicated).

(a) Uncomplicated Malaria – The malarial fever attack consists of the cold stage (shivering and chills), the hot stage (fever), and the sweating stage (sweating and tiredness). Typically, an attack lasts for 6-10 hours and repeats on the second day when the infection is caused by these parasites – P.falciparum, P.vivax, and P.ovale. These are referred to as ‘tertian’ parasites. The P.malariae is called as a ‘quartan’ parasite, and the malarial attack repeats every third day during this type of infection.

11.  Symptoms of this type of malaria include:

Fever
Chills
Pains cold
Headache
Weakness
Loss of appetite
Insomnia

12.  Complications of Malaria

The other type of is complicated Malaria and a this stage more serious symptoms like liver. Kidney issues, and in more serious cases the brain is affected, celebral malaria

13.  Foods with Positive effect on Malaria

What natural foods to include in your regular diet to avoid Malaria:

Garlic
Cinnamon
Black pepper
Ginger
Guava leaves tea
Lemon grass tea
Sea salt
Lemon and ginger including the lemon back
Lime, grapefruit, orange
All citrus fruits
Pineapple fruit
Bitter leaf, washed and taken raw and sometimes used also in soups, other bitters like bitter cola, bitter melon, stone breaker, all bitter foods have positive effect on the liver, because they cool the liver and helps it detox.  Same with all green foods with chlorophyll
ZOBO drink with cloves
Honey.
Scent leaf - efirin
Also included in the above are fenugreek seed, and several other natural foods.

These foods also have positive effect on typhoid but not totally.

14.  Foods and Habits to avoid if you suspect Malaria

Foods and habits to avoid in case of malaria attack

Avoid or limit your fat intake. Excess fat in your diet can aggravate nausea, impair digestion, which may lead to diarrhoea. Fried foods, processed and junk foods should be avoided. It is also recommended that tea and coffee be avoided during malaria treatment

Avoid too much spice too, I have personally observed that whereas garlic is ok during Malaria and Typhoid fevers attack. Onions should be avoided so as not to instigate uncontrollable  diarrhea.  I personally had the ugly experience yrs back trying on my own to deal with malaria induced constipation by taking enough onions. Black pepper is better instead

It is also important to avoid processed foods as much as possible when you suspect Malaria, they increase toxic load which feeds the parasite and weakens the liver too.

It may surprise you to know that even healthy fats should be avoided oon the first 2 or 3 days you suspect Malaria attack.  They  put extra calorie on the body making it difficult for our body to deal with malaria or typhoid fever.

We are always advised to eat, in as much as this statement seems positive, if you suspect Malaria attack reduce food quantity but increase quality if possible, go on Orange juice fast, it increases vitamin C and better positions your body to fight disease.

We are always advised to eat, in as much as this statement seems positive, if you suspect Malaria attack reduce food quantity but increase quality if possible, go on Orange juice fast, it increases vitamin C and better positions your body to fight disease.

Another habit to avoid if you suspect Malaria fever attack is hydration.  Do not permit fluid shortage, it is dangerous and could lead to sudden fainting or loss of vision and control.  These were some ugly experience I had sometimes falling down in the market place and attributing it to attack not know, it was fluid shortage caused by too much fasting without water during an attack.

Women in particular should be more careful especially during the productive yrs, during ur monlthy period. Ur immune is so low, do not engage in fasting or whatever, it will open door for Malaria and Typhoid fever, eat very well 3 or 4 days after ur monthly period so as to avoid disease. I am already in my menopause, but nobody told us.  4 days after menstruation, you can go ahead fasting and doing whatever.

Avoid too much grains or fermented foods if you suspect Malaria or typhoid. Fermented millet is good but if you suspect Malaria reduce its frequency and quantity until you are OK.
Another habit to avoid is eaten even when appetite is not there.  It is dangerous.  Lack of appetite is a message from your brain that something is wrongly.  It is saying, I need more antioxidants. Too many free radicals from " are in here with me.  Listen to that message. Do not ignore it and force food inside your stomach.  Take water instead.  If you force food on yourself or your children when appeitie is missing, that could lead to vomiting which is a medical emergency caused by you.

Withdraw food until appetite returns.  If you don't eat or ur child did not eat for two days you won't die.  It may be all that your body needs to fight, just a break.  Digestion is a big job

15.  What About Typhoid?

What is Typhoid?

According to Science daily website, Typhoid fever is caused by systemic infection with Salmonella enterica Typhi. In contrast, infection with the Closely related bacterium Salmonella enterica Thyphimurium is usually limited to the gut and causes less serious diarrheal disease. Research comparing the two pathogens reveals how S. Typhi avoids recognition and elimination by patrolling immune cells called neutrophils, allowing it to disseminate throughout the patient's body.

Typhoid is caused by bacteria called Salmonella typhi (S. typhi). It's not the same bacterium that causes the foodborne illness Salmonella. Its main method of transmission is the oral-fecal route, generally spreading in contaminated water or food. It can also be passed through direct contact with an infected person.

16.  Symptoms of Typhoid

1st week of illness
Once signs and symptoms do appear, you’re likely to experience:
Fever, that starts low and increases daily, often to as high as 103 or 104 F (39.4 or 40 C)
Headache
Weakness and fatigue
Dry cough
Loss of appetite
Abdominal pain
Diarrhea or constipation
Rash

2nd week of illness
If you don’t receive treatment for typhoid fever, you may enter a second stage during which you become very ill and experience:
Continuing high fever
Either diarrhea or severe constipation
Considerable weight loss
Extremely distended abdomen.

3rd week of illness
By the third week, you may:
Become delirious
Lie motionless and exhausted with your eyes half-closed in what’s known as the typhoid state
Life-threatening complications often develop at this time.

4th week of illness
Improvement may come slowly during the fourth week. Your fever is likely to decrease gradually until your temperature returns to normal in another week to 10 days. But signs and symptoms can return up to two weeks after your fever has subsided

17.  Complications of Typhoid Fever

The 2 most common complications in untreated typhoid fever are: internal bleeding in the digestive system. splitting (perforation) of a section of the digestive system or bowel, which spreads the infection to nearby tissue.

Complications manifests  in form of
Inflammation of the heart muscle (myocarditis)
Inflammation of the lining of the heart and valves (endocarditis)
Pneumonia
Inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis)
Inflammation of the gallbladder (cholecystitis)
Kidney or bladder infections
Infection and inflammation of the  membranes and fluid surrounding your brain and spinal cord (meningitis)
Psychiatric problems such as delirium, hallucinations and paranoid psychosis

How Can I Avoid Typhoid?

We were told that the traditional things to do in order to avoid typhoid fever were these and I avoided them.  Got myself a stainless water filter, yet I continued to suffer typhoid repeatedly.

18.  How can I avoid Typhoid Conventionally

The first step to avoiding typhoid is receiving the typhoid vaccine. Beyond that, here are a few tips to help you avoid the disease:
If you must use local water, be sure to boil or otherwise purify it. Purification tablets and filters are available at all Passport Health travel clinic locations.
Drink sealed, bottled water from a reputable source, and avoid brands you do not recognize.
Remember to only use ice that made from bottled or boiled water. Avoid popsicles or flavored ice.
Ensure all food is cooked thoroughly and served steaming hot.
Avoid all fruits and vegetables that you have not peeled yourself.
Avoid food and drinks from street vendors.
Frequent hand washing is always a good strategy to prevent disease.

The problem is with the environment, not the disease.  When the environment of our bodies is unconducive for disease, even if you consume the typhoid disease life.  You will still not get sick.

19. Fearful myths we hear about Typhoid

1.  Typhoid fever is most prevalent I.
developing countries and areas with poor sanitation standards. The widespread nature of the disease requires taking special precautions. The best protection against typhoid is vaccination and avoiding risky foods or drinks.

2. Typhoid is a serious illness caused by the Salmonella typhi bacteria. The bacterium passes from person-to-person through the consumption of contaminated food or water. Typhoid is so widespread that more than 21.5 million people worldwide fall ill annually, according to the World Health Organization.

3.  The typhoid bacterium lives in human intestinal tracts and bloodstreams. It is only carried by humans, and it spreads through the feces of carriers or people who are ill with the disease. It is often spread when sewage contaminates drinking water or water used for washing food. As a result, typhoid is common in areas where sanitation is poor.
Infections tend to develop over time, starting about three weeks after exposure. Symptoms include high fever, weakness, stomach pains, headaches, loss of appetite, diarrhea or constipation. Some patients will develop a flat, rose-colored rash. If the disease goes untreated, death can result.

4.The typhoid vaccine is available in oral and injectable form. Full immunity can take up to two weeks to develop. Get the vaccine in advance of your departure and potential exposure to the bacteria. Vaccination is a key line of defense, but avoiding risky drinks and food is also important.   And finally

5.  Although the disease is treatable with antibiotics, drug-resistant strains make treatment difficult.

Why do I call the above myths?  It is these sayings that makes the disease a dread.  But has any body told us that these so called typhoid bacteria were around so many years ago, during the times of our ancestors yet, they never suffered it.

The reason is because our foods have changed, our lifestyle have also changed.  They consciously or  unconsciously ate natural foods that strengthened their immunity, they  went to farms and exercised, they enjoyed communal lives and had balanced emotion.

20.  Best foods and habits to keep your gut health strong against typhoid

What foods to include in Your regular diet to avoid typhoid and other gastro intestinal ailments:

Garlic
Cinnamon
Coconut oil and coconut
Cayenne pepper
Millet pap
Green vegetables
Onions
Ginger
Tumeric
Sea salt
Iru, ogiri all fermented foods
Healthy fats like avocados, cashews
Black seed with honey
Honey with cinnamon
Bitter leaf and all bitter foods
Coconut water
Seeds and nuts
Gluten free foods
Anti inflammatory foods

Tips for a healthy gut unfavourable for typhoid bacteria

Eat a wide range of plant-based foods.

Eat more fibre.

Avoid highly processed foods.

Probiotic foods, such as live yoghurt, might encourage more microbes to grow.

Choose extra-virgin olive oil over other fats when you can.

Beware antibiotics kill 'good' bacteria as well as 'bad'.

20.  Foods and habits to avoid if you suffered typhoid before

Avoid raw food. Avoid raw, unpeeled fruits and vegetables that may have been washed with contaminated water, especially lettuce and fruits like berries, mangoes, that can't be peeled. Bananas, avocados, and oranges make better choices, but be sure you peel them yourself.
Avoid too much caffein
Avoid too much processed foods, canned foods, PRESERVATIVES, artificial taste enhancers..
Avoid wheat and gluten

In summary Go natural as much as possible
